Best place to eat at Sea World?

Need some recommendations on where to eat at Sea World. Last time we went here several years ago, we were so not impressed with our dining choice. Can't remember the name but it was some type of "barbeque" counter service. So please steer us in the right direction.

Well, we only ate at one restaurant but I would definitely recommend it. I think it was called the Seafire Inn. It was fast food but the atmosphere in the dining room was very nice. They had these two piano players who did a show while you ate. (The times for the show are on the map/guide.) It's a nice cool place to take a break. The food itself was enjoyable with a few different options. I wouldn't recommend the chicken cordon bleu club that I had (Way too much sauce and cheese!) but the pulled pork sandwiches that others in my family had were great. I couldn't believe how much better the french fries were than at WDW.

If you are willing to spend more money than we were, there are a number of dining experiences that look neat. You can dine with Shamu or sharks and they have a luau, etc. I can't give you my opinion on those though because I haven't experienced them.

Thanks for your input. I did start reading up on the Sharks Underwater Grill and also dining with Shamu. I'm not so sure about that early dinner~4pm I've read some reviews and pics of the buffet & the choices didn't look so great to me. Older reviews of Sharks underwater Grill thought it was too expensive for the quality of food served. But I think there was a menu change sometime ago. Does anyone recommend it?

You'll be safe with any of the places at sea world to eat...everytime ive been (and thats a lot) we've never had a bad meal or snack...the wood fired pizza place was a hit with our group and the deserts all over the park are gorgeous...my mum and i shared a HUGE piece of carrot cake that was lovely.

Has anyone eaten at shark underwater grill? That is where I thought to eat but want to know others' experiences. Is the food good or are you paying for atmosphere like Living Seas at Disney and the food is lacking? All reviews would be great.

I haven't heard much about the Shark Underwater Grill. You might want to start a new thread asking for reviews. More people might respond if they know it's about that specifically.

I have read quite a few reviews of Sharks Underwater Grill. I seem to have an impression of favorable reviews. . . some folks thought it was too costly for the quality of food, others thought it was just fine. I don't believe it's 5 star dining by any means, but I think, overall, the quality is good and there is no disputing the fact that it is quite costly. I would think each adult would spend easily $25 per person and there is a limited children's menu. Depends on what you are looking for. . . something quick and inexpensive or the experience that will cost you more.

You will be able to find food that's just fine without the expense of Shark's Underwater Grill. I remember our family loved Seafire Inn. . . I'm pretty sure that's the name of it. It's near the water and is cafeteria style. We ordered burgers, which were quite good and the price was surprisingly low. Of course we had just been to the Disney parks where you pay an arm and leg for a McDonald's cheeseburger. Our kids had the children's meal which came in a souvenier lunchbox that looked like a killer whale. They loved it too. Our teenagers had burgers as well and were very impressed. I think it was less than $50 for 8 of us to eat lunch!

We plan to eat at Shark's this time. . . if we can get priority seating at the time we need. . . if not, we won't be devastated as we will just go to Seafire Inn again.

By the way, there are quite a few reviews of Sharks. . .you might have to go back a few pages though and dig around a bit. . . try the search as well.

We ate at the Busch Hospitality Center and had the BEST roast beef sandwich I've ever had! You should check that out...plus you get a free beer sample.

My Dh and I have eaten at Sharks 3 or 4 times and we would recommend it - the food is always good, it is quite expensive but it is a good meal in a well themed restaurant, also the service we have experienced has always been good.

If you have not made a reservation before the day then when you enter the park go to the Guest Relations desk just inside the main entrance and they will tell what the availabilty is, we have never had a problem but we usually go in September when it is not too busy. Hope this helps.

The food is good, but still overpriced given how expensive the place is. You are paying for the view more than anything, and no argument that it is breath-taking.

If you have time for a drink, be sure to stop by the bar area---the aquarium "in" the bar is amazing, as well.

It was my understanding that you could not make any reservations ahead of time. . .perhaps the exception would be annual passholders and I thought they could only call like 24-48 hours in advance. Originally I thought anyone could call the morning of and request a priority seating time, but then I was told no, that's not the case, you actually have to go to the restaurant the day you wish to eat and put in for a time.

Is this not true?? Has anyone, who is not an annual passholder, called recently and made reservations??

We've only eaten at Shark's once, but it was worth every penny we spent.

We also like the Hospitality House Deli--GREAT sandwiches, beef stew, etc. Easy access to free beer, too.

Also on our list is the barbeque place--I've forgotten its name, though.
