Hi. I saw the thread about where to eat at HS so that got me thinking about Magic Kingdom. I haven't found a good place to eat there. Any suggestions?

Sounds silly because it seems a bit simple, but our best meal at MK (besides CP breakfast buffet) was the Main St. Bakery.

We ate there for lunch and got a yummy and huge ham & cheese sandwich. It was very fresh and good quality. We also got a frozen latte and pastry for dessert that was to die for!

Next time we plan to go to this very place for lunch or dinner and get a sandwich and one of those homemade ice cream cookie sandwiches-boy, did those look good!:lovestruc

For lunch or a light dinner, we love Columbia Harbor House. They have terrific sandwiches, as well as really good soups. Upstairs is quiet, which makes a nice break from the park.

What kind of food are you looking for?

I agree with the PP who recommended Columbia Harbor House. I haven't tried the Main Street Bakery so I can't comment there. I thought that the Plaza Restaurant was OK, but it was a bit on the high side for sandwiches.

Personnally, I also like Cosmic Rays and Pecos Bills. The burgers themselves are just ok, but I love the fixin's bar. So I bury my cheeseburger in the fixin's.

Another vote for CHH. :cloud9: We love to stop in there for lunch--usually right when it opens. Great vegetarian sandwich too! :thumbsup2 And, I'm not a vegetarian!;)

Another vote for Crystal Palace--we have breakfast there every year. We also enjoyed our lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern and we enjoy having lunch or dinne rat the Plaza Restaurant--good sandwiches, shakes and yummy sundaes.

For a full day at the park we like to snack at our resort for breakfast and get there for rope drop, make our main meal of the day a last seating breakfast or early lunch at Crystal Palace, so we're ready for the more sedate afternoon filler rides/shows once it starts getting hot/busy. Then ice-cream/dole whips mid-late afternoon and turkey legs in the early evening, and maybe some popcorn for the fireworks if required.

Not going to be doing that on the next trip though (Platinum plan :woohoo: )

Our favorite and a must do each trip is the plaza restaurant. Actually, this is always our first lunch of the trip!! We also enjoy Tony's.

:goodvibes

Agreed on this. We discovered Columbia Harbor House two trips ago, and are sorry we didn't find it sooner! Food was good, atmosphere etc., especially for a counter service place. We also found the upstairs, and were pleasantly surprised when we found out no one was sitting up there, even though the downstairs was packed. Had a great view of the riverboat as well!

For table service, we really, really, really like Liberty Tree Tavern. Considering the menu looks like a typical Thanksgiving meal, it's very good. The character interaction is also GREAT!

How's Tony's?

I love Tony's lunch menu(well at least their Italian Panini), haven't been there for dinner but will say that I'm not big on restaurant Italian food .

How's Tony's?

My hubby and I weren't huge fans..my mother in law is the best Italian cook so it is hard for us to eat Italian unless it is fine dining. The food was dry and the sauce was really bad.. I wouldn't return..I do not think that MK has good food..but if I had to pick we really enjoyed the breakfast in the castle..we thought it was very good..so in August we are going to try The Castle for Dinner..;)

My vote is for the Crystal Palace. This is a must dine for me on every trip for breakfast & dinner. :woohoo: Great food & fun!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Thank you for all the great suggestions. I am keeping a tally and so far it is Crystal Palace, Columbia Harbor House, and Tony's are all even. Guess I'll have to look at the menus.

Another vote for CP--consistently good service and great selection at the buffet. Also we really enjoyed lunch at the Plaza. It's off the beaten track somewhat and a quiet respite from all the craziness on Main Street. Have not tried Tony's and we don't go to CHH because DS is allergic to fish and we don't want to chance it. NOT a fan of LTT for the food but the characters are a hoot.

I love Columbia Harbour House for lunch and CP or Liberty Tree for dinner.

Just another CHH fan here. I LOVE their tuna sandwich & clam chowder (although I usually get the kids mac n cheese  ). It's one of my very few must-do's on each trip. plus i love eating upstairs, it's so peaceful with a great view of fantasyland.

For lunch we love Peco Bills and dinner we love Liberty Tree Tavern those are must dos for us.
