best place to buy APs and how it works

Can someone tell me where the best place to buy an Annual Pass is, how they work, how to activate them, etc.

I bought mine at the Orlando International Airport..... I believe you can buy them at some of the Disney stores.. but they run out fast... so that is why I bought mine at the airport at that Disney Store.. I thought when I bought it was activated that day... or was it when I through the turnstyle.. I am not sure on this.. maybe others have more info for you.. I do know it was activated the day I bought it.

You can buy an AP voucher at the Disney Store and then activate it at a ticket window of one of the parks. But I don't really see the benefit of doing it this way, unless you're worried about the price going up. What we did is just by our AP's at the ticket window, so when you buy them, they are already activated. Once activated the AP is good for 366 days.
