Hi there! I know lots of Apple lovers frequent this board so I thought I'd post this here. Does it make a difference where I purchase an iPad 2? My husband would like one as an early Father's Day present and I'd love to use it as well. Does it make a difference whether I buy it at an Apple Store, Verizon store or Best Buy? Are their certain perks you get for purchasing it in one place over another? I am considering the iPad 2 with Wi-fi and 3G service through Verizon if that makes a difference. I also don't need it immediately but some time before April 5th would be good. Thanks for any suggestions!

It really doesn't matter because you are getting the same item no matter where you buy it. I'd prefer to go to the Apple store for mine simply because they have such a great buying experience there and they will help you get started with it. Plus you'll learn about free classes they offer and you get a chance to play with some of the other cool Apple products.

Purchasing at Best Buy allows you to purchase an insurance against anything going wrong including if you drop the iPad. This can also be done through Square Trade after purchase.

Apple offers something called "One on One" classes that allow you to sit with someone at the Apple store and learn about your new device.

I believe it's $99 for a year and you can learn basics or you can have a specialized class on just about any topic.

This "one on One" service is not available if you purchase your Apple product from any outlet other than an Apple store.

Thanks for the responses. I will check out the Apple Store. I have One to One service for my iMac that we purchased in October. You just inspired/reminded me to sign up for another class. I'm not sure if I would really use it for the iPad. Has anyone taken any classes related to the iPad? Just curious! Thanks again!

Our nearest Apple store is an hour and a half away. Buying online works really well.

I have read two books on iPads and they were not very helpful as it is so easy to use any way! There are lessons on the Apple website.
