Best place in Epcot to eat

Quick back story, I'm going to Disney with my wife, daughter and my mother (yes I know this is very brave of me) in 20 days. Of course I'm rethinking every plan that I've been making for months now.
Our first day we are going to Epcot and have dinner reservations at Teppen. Our daughter is 2 and I think she would like the atmosphere there but at the same time I think the show might be too loud for her. Plus it's a japanese steakhouse and we can find those close to us.

What's a great place for smaller kids at Epcot? I know garden grill gets a lot of love on here, but it just doesn't seem like a place we would like, so I'm ruling that one out. How's Akershus? Is the food and the atmosphere good, or is it typical buffet type food?

Or should I be happy with Teppen and I"m completely over thinking this?

Akershus is not a buffet. Breakfast is normal breakfast platters. Lunch and dinner is plated, watered-down Scandinavian food. The meatballs are less authentic than an IKEA meatball, for instance.

For small kids, Teppan is fun, as is Restaurant Marrakesh and Coral Reef. Biergarten is a buffet but kids love dancing with the band.

I liked Akershus.
The cold plate is buffet, but your main course and dessert is brought to your table.

Our kids are older now and they still love Akershus. They love the princesses. We do also enjoy the food. There is a salad bar then the meal and dessert is brought to the table for lunch and dinner. We really enjoy Akershus and would pick this over Teppen Edo.

I liked Teppan Edu but we only booked it one time because we also have access at home. If you are looking for something a little different, and something a child might like, try Coral Reef. I think that magnificent aquarium is a sight to behold.

If you are thinking of changing at all, take a look and see what is still available on that date. You may well find that your choices are very limited at this time

If she loves princesses, Akershus is great, especially at 2. Keep in mind at 2, you don't have to pay for her (it's a sit down where you order off the menu, but there is an app bar that she can eat off of for free). I've never been to Tepan, but Coral Reef is another option if she is big into fish.

Of course you know that most any choice is a good one! I've not been to Teppen, but if you have hibachi near your house (and hibachi is already expensive!) it might do you to try something unique. With a little one, it likely depends on her demeanor. Does she need to be overtly entertained or will a more passive show suit her (and you)

If it's the former, Restaurant Marrakesh is nice and the belly dancer is fun and lively! If something a bit more passive works, I echo the Coral Reef. Now I have had varying experiences there from phenomenal food and service to mediocre food and service, but sitting in front of North America's largest aquarium NEVER disappoints! It is spectacular. Again, if atmosphere will entertain, the San Angel Inn is another choice. The food is fairly run of the mill "Mexican," but the view of the volcano and river (with boats) under the "stars" is priceless.

I have been to Coral Reef, Teppan Edo and Garden Grill. I prefer Teppan Edo for food quality, Coral Reef for atmosphere and Garden Grill for character fun. I would suggest Coral Reef and request for a table at the water tank. I did it twice when DD was younger and we both enjoyed seeing fishes and turtles swimming by. One huge turtle always stationed right next to us the whole time for both visits. Now DD gets older and she prefers Teppan Edo for the show and food. She is a big fan of Japanese food.

Just ate at Biergarten NYE and it was very good buffet. They do have a band with a stage and dance floor where lots of kids and adults danced.
It was a very up beat and fun festive atmosphere. Your 2 year old might enjoy the music although it does get a bit loud at times.

I was a little hesitant at first with my decision but we were pleasantly surprised

We love the food at Marrakech. Your daughter would probably enjoy the belly dancer. She comes out periodically during the evening and the little ones really seem to enjoy it.

The children I've been with have loved San Angel Inn and Toyko Dining where they get served on Monorail plates. When my turning 5 year old nephew was asked what he wanted for his birthday dinner he said sushi, the monorail sushi was like the highlight of the trip. This kid also asked for very few souvenirs, etc., but cleaned our the weird candy in the Japanese department store.

The service is really good. Even my picky eater DD likes it there.
