Ok, I admit it. I'm not a "true" coffee drinker. I'm a coffee snob. At a minimum I have to have flavored liquid creamer. But better yet is a cafe mocha with a shot of raspberry! I'm staying at BWV, but with 2 little ones we'll be up and at the parks plenty early, too.

Where to get my morning jolt?!?! Or do I need to buy some amaretto creamer when I get there?

Shel :)

As a Starbucks addict, I have some trouble at the disney resorts. Some of the sit-down restaurants will make you a latte or cappucino, but I haven't had much luck at the buffets. Most of the deluxes put out strong coffee, but I haven't seen much in the way of creamers. The only place I found with good hot coffee drinks like lattes was at downtown disney. I think it may have a new name now, but it was called something like forty-thirst street. I think there are also places in some of the moderate food courts.

I had a somewhat disappointing conversation with a CM at the GF concierge desk, which was slightly illuminating about why they don't have any cofee shops.

Me: Is there anywhere I can go to like a Starbucks drink?

CM: Starbucks is not a disney company, so no.

Me: Well, even if not starbucks, a place like it?

CM: I don't think so, but I don't drink coffee.

Me: Interesting -- you know those places like Starbucks are very popular, one might do well here in the resort.

CM: (Defensively): Orlando is a hot-weather city, so there is no much demand for hot drinks.

Hmmm. Ok, thanks, I said.

I don't know about you, but I drink coffee wherever I am, hot climate or not. I have heard that you can get good coffee at the Kona cafe at the Polynesian, although I've never been there. We usually just buy the yucky stuff that they have at some of the counter service places in the parks. There is also a bakery on the Boardwalk. Maybe their coffee is drinkable.

LOL, this is WDW not Starbucks. They are starting to serve more lattes. Best I have found is at the Fountainview in Epcot. Also serving excellent coffee drinks in the Swan hotel. ::MickeyMo

I'm a Starbucks addict. There is no great coffee at Disneyworld. But after 3 or 4 mornings of no Starbucks....the place mentioned in Downtown Disney will do.

My children get to live if DH and I get good coffee in the morning.:teeth:
We live in Houston where it is just as hot as Orlando. Disney doesn't need to partner up with Starbucks but it would be nice if they had more little coffee shops around the parks.

Yeah, obviously, the "warm weather" thing was just what he said to try to make me go away. I wasn't suggesting it was a legitimate thing to say. (Starbucks, for example, does exceptionally well in Phoenix.)

Try the Kona coffee at Poly. It's really good!

There are also "specialty coffee" carts in Epcot and I"m sure some of the other parks as well.....

yes - right in front of Ellen's energy adventure and I believe between canada and England (london/whatever)

also - France makes a good cup of coffee.

Press Pots at Jiko/Boma are very good as well.

I've found the trick with "regular" WDW coffee - extra cream. I don't particularly LIKE cream in my coffee - but it's the only way I can drink it down there. (of course - after the 3rd day, I'm used it)

Starbucks coffee really doesn't do it for me...the "regular" blends are good, overpriced, but good. The lattes and such are a nice treat, but never something I'd want to drink daily (way too fattening). There is a Starbucks on City Walk at Universal...so they do exist in Orlando.

but give me Dunkin Donuts any day!

AKL concerige lounge has a wonderful expresso and cappacino machine -- and no I don't mean that disgusting powered stuff you find at gas stations.

We are not staying there on this time and that is what we will all miss. My whole family (kids included) are Starbucks fans.

Renee

Also, the Casual Restaurant at AKL, Mara has the same Cappucino Machine. However, the best is at the Orlando Premium Outlet Mall... Starbucks. After a couple of days, we just have to go there!

How come no one mentioned that there is a Starbucks in Tubbi's at the Dolphin? jj

Ooooo, now *that's* a biggie, esp since we're staying on the BW!!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!

ITA with that one!!! :D

If you end up at DTD, make sure you stop by Earl of Sandwich and order their Kona coffee. It was wonderful!

Okay, I think the cappucinnos at the Boardwalk Bakery are awesome. I would give it a try. Also, if you are at DTD give Ghiradelli a try, they make some yummy coffee drinks.

We have given up on coffee at Disney. We bring our own bag of Starbucks with us and buy the flavored cream to make do. We are staying at BWV (in 4 more days!) and I just bought our bag of ground expresso today to take with us.

There is a "Cup of Joe" coffee stand on the Boardwalk just in front of the resort but it doesn't open until the afternoon. Go Figure!

Friend told me she'd get her cup on the Boardwalk next to the Sweet's place at the bakery.
I know there's a stand by the gift shop there that opens late afternoons.
At MGM -- 1. Right after you enter MGM on the right hand side there's a little coffee stand, 2. After I ride Tower of Terror (there's a little stand there as you exit the gift shop).
Haven't found a good place for AK or MK yet.
Most likely, better luck where there's table dining.
If you want to try just a plain good cup of coffee - Chefs de France at Epcot - the aroma!!!

During out last stay at Boardwalk the coffee bar was open down on the Boardwalk every morning. I got DH a fresh steamed cocoa and myself a very good mocha. Tubbi's is also great for coffee. If you like regular coffee with flavor added you could get a small bottle of flavored syrup (I've seen "travel size" ones at World Market) and some good cream and do your own drinks too.

I believe the Contemporary has a coffee bar as well, on the ground floor near the escalators and front desk. Haven't tried it though.
