What's the best place for dessert at WDW (including parks, resorts, etc.)?

What desserts are best?

Does anyone remember the volcanic mudslide that they had at the Poly years ago? To die for!

Many questions, I know! LOL

The Kringla Bakery in Norway at EPCOT has decadent chocolate mousse cake.

The Sunshine Season Food Fair in the Land Pavilion at EPCOT has wonderful key lime pie.

Le Cellier's canadian club cake is sooooo good but it is VERY rich!

I think those are the only places I've gotten dessert outside of the character meals but none of those really stood out. These three were just amazing! :)

The Kona Cafe in the Polynesian has wonderful deserts like Koko puffs and Kileua torte......Yummy.......

Best places for desserts...

1. Boma at AKL has the best Kahula chocoloate mousse cakes at the dessert end of the buffet. They were so great my dh and I each ate 2 or 3 of them.

2. I love the rice krispy treats with the toppings (chocolate, peanut butter, etc.). You can find them at the gourmet Pantry at DTD, Main Street confectionary at MK, and many others.

3. The ice cream at the shop on Main Street is wonderful. I can't remember the name of the shop, but it is the last shop on the right as you are heading toward the castle from the entrance. If you're waiting for a parade, it's almost guaranteed that you will smell the waffle cones baking!

4. Ghirardelli's Chocolate Soda Fountain at DTD has great waffle cones and different ice cream sundaes/shkaes/etc. I also love the frozen mocha.

5 and by far the best thing to try....

If you have a group of people (any more than four), go to the Beaches and Cream soda shop at the Yacht/Beach Club and order the "Kitchen Sink." It is an ice cream dish that literally is served in a kitchen sink. There is one scoop of each flavor of ice cream they serve (8 in all) as well as every topping they have.

I was there with 8 friends once, and we ordered the kitchen sink. They dim the lights and announce to the whole place that someone has ordered it. Between the 9 of us, we totally pigged out and still didn't finish it. As added fun, another family saw that we got that and they ordered one and the staff turned it into a "friendly competition" to see who could eat it all first. We ended up getting pictures with the family and talking to them afterwards.

I suppose there's nothing like ice cream at Disney to bring people together!!!

I hope my suggestions aren't too ice cream based. We don't eat at the full service restaurants a ton, and if so, rarely order dessert, so most of my tasting has been at the counter services place.

Here's wishing I was on my way to get ice cream now!!!

Dole Whips for a quick dessert at MK and Fire and Ice something or other at Cinderella's castle. It's a chocolate volcano with a warm raspberry center with white chocolate "snow" ice cream on the side. Heavenly...

Any and all of the deserts at Boma. Also, Coral Reef has fantastic deserts, but the service is consistantly lousy (and rude) so, we don't go there anymore. Boulangerie Patisserie and the Fountainview Espresso and Bakery have great selections as well, if you would rather not go to a true "sit-down" restaurant. Have fun!

Without a doubt Ghiradelli's in DTD has the BEST ice cream sundaes that I have ever had. My husband and I never miss it when we're in Disney!

Also, in the MK on Main Street you can get a chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich at either the bakery or the ice cream shop that is incredible! It's huge and so yummy!

Beaches and Cream!

We used the vouchers (saved a great deal $$$) and LOVED LOVED LOVED the desserts!

My Votes:
1. Beaches N' Cream when it isn't so crowded.
2. Kona Cafe anytime.
Sugar Hi :hyper:
ADP

Best desserts we've had:

Coral Reef: Chocolate Wave (they say it's consistently voted "Best Dessert at Disney")
Boma: zebra domes
Marrakesh: forget what they're called, flakey pastries with ice cream

We just returned on Saturday from a wonderful week at WDW. For the first time, we had dinner at Akershus in Norway. We were able to buy all six of their desserts served together on one platter for $10.25. The desserts included a flourless chocolate cake and rice pudding. (Sorry, I only remember two of the six but I remember enjoying them all.)

My favorite dessert still is the grapefruit cake from the Brown Derby.

Don't forget the French Patisserie for some delectable bakery.

The dessert sampler at Alfredo's in WS's Italy. It had about 5-6 different things, including a mini titamusu, cannoli and a choc. covered strawberry. Plus some other chocolatey things. Also loved the Fettucini at Alfredo's. Talk about blowing your diet!

Wow, all of these suggestions make me want to eat dessert everywhere! LOL

I've been to Ghiradelli's and absolutely loved the sundae I had (chocolate, raspberry something). It was truly amazing. I also had some sort of cheesecake at Kona Cafe last year that was wonderful (as you can tell, I'm not good with names).

I would love to try the Lava cake at Cindy's. Chocolate and raspberry are my faves and this sounds incredible. Considering making a PS just for that.

I've heard about the kitchen sink, glad to see someone who has tried it. I saw it on a show on the food network once and thought that I would love to have enough people to try one of them. Of course, like said, you would have to have a lot of people. Fun though.

Thanks so much for the input!!! When I return from my trip in September, I will let you know which I try.
