Can any of you good photographers recommend a good photo editing program? I am looking for something not horribly expensive, fairly easy to use and not too complicated. I really would like a program that enhances colors (snorkeling pictures) as well as the basic things like red eye, etc. Thanks so much!

Take a look at photoshop elements and Coral paintshop pro, I am fairly certain they are both around the same price and both can be downloaded for free trials.

I agree with Master Mason, download the free trials and test them,

I use Corel PAint Shop PRo Photo X2, so if you have any questions about it feel free to ask

I've used Corel Paintshop for years and prefer it. To me it's more friendly.

I'm using photoshop elements 5 and love it. So far there hasn't been anything that I have wanted to do that I haven't been able to figure out how to with it.

Photoshop is definitely the standard but give the programs everyone has mentioned a try. I am sure you will find that most of them will meet your needs. However, the "best" program is tough to determine because everyone has different needs and wants with their photo editing program of choice. It doesn't sound like you have a mac but you can also use Aperture or iPhoto with the mac.

There is also Adobe Lightroom and Picasa. But definitely download the trial versions. You'll get 30 days to experiment.

I've been using Picasa by Google.

It's the easiest I've found yet.....

I use picasa from Google. It is free and very easy to use. It also puts all your pictures in an album. Give it a try. http://picasa.google.com/

Photoshop Elements and Bibble Lite are the ones I use the most. I shoot mostly in raw so Bibble does that job. Their auto fix function is still light years ahead of many other out there. Almost all of the ones previously mentioned have free 30 day trials, so give a few a whirl to see which one is best for you.

I have Elements 6 and Paint Shop Photo Pro.
Six months ago I was IN love with PSPP.
Then one day... I messed around with Elements and well.... I broke it off with PSPP. Pspp is very user-friendly IMO.. but once I figured out Elements, I preferred it.

Picasa does a good job with redeye, but almost all of my editing is done with photoshop elements 2.0. I have heard that the newer versions of photoshop elements do not have as many features as 2.0, but I don't know if that is true or not.
