Alright, who are you really?! Is your name Disney? Are you a major shareholder? Is Bob Iger your neighbor? Did you buy enough points to get a week in a Poly bungalow? C'mon, fess up. It has to be something like that to get that kind of royal upgrade.
Congrats, and if you have not done a GV before be aware that it is better than anyone may tell you, and the biggest downside is having to go back to reality for your next trip and reserve a smaller room.
My name is not Disney. I don't own any shares of Disney. Bog Iger is not my neighbor. I
REALLY WISH I could buy enough points to get a week in a Poly Bungalow. I think it's pretty much because of how awesome, amazing, and humble I am. I am pretty much the best! So, obviously, they would fall over themselves to give me an upgrade!
hehe. All kidding aside, I am super stoked!
Yep, that was close to my first thought, too. A room swap, yes, -- but 'upgrade' lies in the eye of the beholder. On the bright side, the master bedroom now gets a King bed (yeah) and you gain two extra bathrooms. On the other hand, the bedrooms are now on different levels; the master bathroom is a serious downgrade; you lose all theming and likely won't have a decent patio.
Oh well -- there remains, I hope, opportunity for the OP to experience a Treehouse in future trips!
This is true too! I told everyone that is staying with me (total of 8 people, 7 adults and a 5 year old) and 2 of them were upset that we weren't going to be in the Treehouse. However, an equal number of them were excited that everyone was going to have a real bed and not have to sleep in sofa beds. Also since I am doing this entirely with my
DVC, I am pretty much in charge of where we sleep. And I wanted that upgrade!! Since they aren't paying me for the reservation, they can just deal with it. hehe.
My main consideration was transportation really. We are only in the Treehouse/Grand Villa one night before we move over to a 2 bedroom at BLT. So having to deal with transferring buses and what not while trying to coordinate moving all of our stuff, getting checked-out and checked-in was the real bonus for me. Plus being in the room for just one night, and the night being a long one, I didn't see us actually being in the room much at all.
I do want to check out the THVs for sure! They look awesome. But i'd like to do it as a multi-night trip where we can enjoy the room more.
