Hello everyone, I did try to search this first but every time I search any more I get an error. Sorry to have to ask this as I 'm sure it is on here many times...
What pens do you suggest for Autographs books. Last year I bought books here at home at attached sharpies to them with a ribbon (great tip I got from the DIS). The problem was that they "bled" thru the pages so we had to skip a bunch depending on how hard the character wrote.

Please let me know what you use...
TIA

GREAT question! Esp because I was thinking of taking the retractable sharpie this year! Can't wait to hear the replies.

That is what we took last year when I took my grandson.
They come in lots of colors also.

Have fun at Disney!

We purchased the pens at WDW. They work well because they are so large, it's easy for the costume characters to grab/write with them.

We used a retractable sharpie and had great results from characters. I used card stock, though, so I am not sure about bleeding through lighter weight paper.

We used sharpies but we had a homemade autograph book with cardstock. If you wanted to cut a piece of cardstock or cardboard to act as a buffer (like on duplicate checks) that would prevent bleeding while they sign.

I went to the dollar store and found fat (as big as a man's pinky) pens with the plastic grippers around them. They were in a two pack blue and black or black and green ink. I am going to give them a try also since I found out that the sharpies bleed through our autograph books too. If that doesn't work then I will buy a pen at WDW.

Great suggestions, esp about using card stock or making a blotter form card stock.
That's why I LOVE these boards!!!!!!

This is also what we use if they stop writing for any reason you just dart into any store and they will swap it out with no questions asked.

I take a few zipties and make a loop to attach to lanyard .

I found some pens on clearance at the Disney outlet, that have a string attached to them so they can be worn around your neck. This is great for keeping it handing - Baloo had a fun time playing with the string! I like it because it's one less thing that I have to keep track of!!! They are fat and retractable points, so they are easy to hold and no cap to be concerned about.

We had a lot of trouble with these pens. We had 3 that broke. CMs very happily replaced them, but it was just a hassle taking the time to get them replaced. They kept falling apart when the characters tried to use them and the springs would fall out. Next time, I will definitely consider bringing my own pen.
