Best Parks to enter late

My husband and I are starting to plan our Disney honeymoon (we book on Friday!! :goodvibes: ) and he is concerned that I'm going to run him ragged (ie make him go to every park every day, early in the morning).

So, what do you think the best parks to go later in the morning are? We are going to be there from September 28th to October 6th.

I told him that we'd have to be there at opening the day we go to the Magic Kingdom, but could probably sleep in a bit for the rest of the parks.

We plan on going to all the Disney parks and Universal Studios.

Also, any suggestions on relaxing things to do on our off days?

My wife is like your husband.....I run her ragged. So, she likes to sleep in since I like to close the parks out. So we just find the park that is open the latest.

The MK is DEFINATELY a great park to do later in the day, followed by Epcot. Remember, World Showcase doesn't even open until 11:00 so you're not missing much by sleeping in.

Of course, my wife sleeps in until around 12:00, so I just get up and go in by myself in the mornings.

My husband works 2nd shift, so he usually sleeps until 11. I'll be up at 7 when we are at WDW, bouncing off the walls waiting for him to wake up :rotfl:

Well this is normal for us at WDW. My wife has Crohn's disease, and because of it, she's anemic, which causes her to need more sleep than the average person. Because of this, we normally do not get into the parks (together) before 12:00 or 1:00.

However, if you want, you should get up early and go to the parks by yourself for a little while. My wife doesn't mind, just as long as I let her sleep.

So, I get up about 7:45 and go out to the parks until around 11:00 or so and then come back while she's getting ready. At first I didn't like being there by myself but, after doing it for so long now I've learned to love doing it and I just go at my own pace and I truly feel like a little kid who's free to go as he likes.

My entire family likes to sleep in or, if we do get up around 8:00 or 9:00, it takes us so long to get going so can help here.

Yes, definitely go to Magic Kingdom by opening. Have your husband make that concession.

Epcot is a great park to get to later in the day. Switch the thoughts of the typical guest and enjoy Future World after noon when everyone else is in World Showcase. World Showcase can really be done at any time. It's usually pretty empty 11:00-12:00.

We get to Animal Kingdom late and stay until closing. You can do a ton of things in the last couple of hours before closing. Sometimes we feel like salmon swimming up a stream getting into the park because of the people leaving the park.

We've never had any problems at MGM by getting there later. FastPasses for Rock N Roller and Twilight Zone are always available.

My husband is the first one to get up so he's found things to keep him occupied while the rest of us struggle up. He's a big newspaper reader and he loves getting a paper and reading it by the pool. I know where he is if I'm ready to go before he gets back. Take a walk around your resort.

On your off days, play a round or two of minature golf. Resort hop (especially the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Wilderness Lodge). Go to Downtown Disney. Most of all, have fun.

Good call on AK, I've found the same thing. Many times I've headed there at 3:00 and spent the last 2 hours there running around as people are leaving in herds (no pun intended ;) ) Don't know what it is - maybe since it closes at 5:00 (most of the time), most people have made evening plans for their AK day and head out a little bit early. But it really is a great opportunity to get into some shorter lines that last hour or 2.

I'd say Epcot and MGM because neither one has a big opening ceremony and MK and AK do. If you're interested in watching the opening ceremonies then that would be my recommendation. It pains me to get there late to any of them though.
