Best park when raining?

So interesting! Thanks guys! Also I should say we have a three yr old and a one yr old so we're probably not going to be riding many coasters. The kids are more interested in characters and kids rides like small world and such.

The best time I've ever had in a rainy park was at the Studios. It didn't just rain - it poured! But we rode all of the rides over and over (4 times in a row on Toy Story Mania, as fast as we could run around and get through the line again), saw the Little Mermaid Show, the Muppets, the Animation Academy; awesome!

The capper to a great day was the rain cleared off just in time for F! and we walked right in. :)

Now here is a question, are the parks really more empty in the rain?If you have planned out your WDW vacation in the advance and only have one week there is rain really going to make you change your plans and not go to a park? Especially when parks like MK and DHS have mostly indoor rides

For example, in June 2012 we had to go to EPCOT in a tropical storm because we had plans to eat breakfast with the princesses and with 2 day park passes we couldn't go back. There was no way we could change our plans because of the rain.

Yes. Usually what it means is people still go but leave the parks early. Or go back to the resort in hopes to return after the rain. But, yes, not everyone at WDW has planned months in advance. A lot of people are local, or wimps. :hyper:

I'm surprised more people aren't saying DHS.

Pretty much everything, including the lines, are inside. It's not all that spread out, so the walking around in the rain isn't as tough to do.

Seems like a perfect fit for me.

I like to think "if a lot of people are going to avoid this park, then why not go to this one?". LOL! Rain will make parks less crowded so why not go to one where you can walk on rides? We took an umbrella once and it made it nicer and we were able to stow it near us when we rode on rides.

We have done all four parks in the rain. The worst was Hollywood Studios and the best was Magic Kingdom. Most attractions were indoors and was able to do many rides multiple times.

So we ended up going to MK in the rain. It was fun but not a good choice for me. The rain messed up the shows and the dance party, which are my favorite things. In the future, I think I'll try HS in the rain because I think their shows are inside.

We did Epcot in the rain, and while it wasn't bad, it certainly wasn't great either. But, MK on the other hand, awesome in the rain. We walked on most rides. I don't know where everyone hid because the place appeared almost empty!!!

Epcot. When I was there in 2012 we got there right as a tropical storm hit and Epcot has so many things to do indoors and it was the park we stayed most dry in haha. (it rained all but 2 days of our 7 day trip)

My personal favorite is MK. I am usually able to get lots done with light crowds! I would say if I had to guess, the worst would be Epcot as it is so spread out at some parts, but I have never been there in anything more than a mist (luckily)! I am also not a poncho girl, I hate how they stick to me, so MK allows me to dart around hah!

DHS for us.

Headliners are indoors (TSM/RNR/TOT).

Plenty of 2nd tier attractions inside or under cover, Muppets, GMR, Indy, L mermaid, B & Beast, Walts Dream, Star Tours.

Not too spread out.

Other parks can loose headliners

T Track

BTMRR, and Splash your out in it if you are OK with that.
