I just checked the 10 day forecast, and it looks like scattered showers/ thunder showers for Friday & Saturday. We had planned on Blizzard Beach/MGM for Friday & MK for Saturday (specifically for Spectro & Wishes). We will NOT have park hoppers,(leaving MK and going elsewhere won't be an option if it starts to rain) so is there a park you would recommend for Saturday instead, that won't be as affected by rain and/or lightning? We have never been to MGM, Epcot or Animal Kingdom so I have no idea which park has the most indoor attractions.

The only better park than MK for rain is MGM because there are shows you can watch while it rains. Don't worry about the forecast, we get that a lot. And usually the weather is nice.

The only thing that worries me is that we might miss Spectro or Wishes. Do they still have the parades, fireworks, etc in the rain?

I don't know about MK but I stood in a thunderstorm at EPCOT, when the show started it wasnt raining. But they really didnt stop it, even though the lighting was bad for this Florida resident. I think that they cancel for high winds and lightning. But I really dont think that there will be any summer type thunderstorms, this late in the year.

Scattered thunderstorms are a fact of life in FL - most of the forecasts will have them.

Unfortunately, if there is a lot of rain they will cancel parades. Fireworks I've never seen them cancel - but I suppose it has happened. Parades are cancelled because (I've been told by CMs) of concern of safety of those in the parade.

All you can do is wait until the day before and check the forecast to see if one day looks better than the other. There is plenty to do in MK in the rain and believe it or not it does not thin the crowds out.

We had rainy weather when we were at WDW in May for a long weekend and we chose to go to MGM because there are a lot of indoor shows...I was surprised though at how many people were there!! It was raining quite steadily but everyone was making the best of it with their ponchos, hats, umbrellas, etc.

Wouldn't put too much stock in a 10-day forecast. They often can't get it right 10 HOURS in advance. During our trip last week, the local Orlando forecasters often couldn't get the afternoon forecast right that same morning!!
And unless it is absolutely a pouring down, wind swept washout, as others have said ,you'll be suprised how little effect it has on things generally.
So just bring a poncho and have a good time!!

Best in rain: MK & DS. Lots of shows and it's never too far a walk to find a little shelter from the rain.

So-so: Epcot. Lots of shows/big buildings, but it can be a trek from one pavillion to the next.

Worst in rain: AK. So much is outdoors, and it can be a loooong walk from place to place. Although I would like to do the Kilimunjaro Safari in the rain....
