What's your favourite park for atmosphere?

The atmosphere at the Magic Kingdom is unmatched, and the rides are pretty good too... :D

When I read your post, the first thing that came into my head was the World Showcase at night. Just strolling along through the countries (not running to rides), seeing the lights, then Illuminations. I love it.

AK also gives me that "I'm definately not home!" feel.

For atmosphere there is nothing comparible to MK. I love the idea of being there in the crowd big kids (you know: adults) laughing and jostling to get onto Peter Pan's Flight, or trying to get as many bounces as Tigger. Even trying to get the best viewing spot in Philarmagic.
But IMHO the best atmosphere is AK: I know I am in the jungles of Africa when I get past the lockers at the admission gate.
:teeth: :teeth: :wave2:

MK is like our family's little fantasy world. As I move through Main Street and the various lands I get that unique feeling that I am entering "a whole new world".

Mine is the Animal Kingdom. It's so lush, and peaceful.

I love nothing more than to stroll the paths through the Oasis and on Discovery Island.

For me nothing beats the MK (though the world showcase comes very close!)

i really like the atmosphere at mgm. i love the music and whole look. of course, ToT is my favorite ride also!:D

Depends on my mood. MK for excitement, Epcot for relaxing.:earsboy:

Yup......I gotta agree with Disnemom..... MGM does seem to be able to just about completely immerse you in a single type of theme from start to finish.

And yes....ToT is my favorite ride too.....followed a close 2nd by RnRC

MK! Just walking down Main Street does it for me!!! Great atmosphere! Nothing beats it!!

:sunny:

When I enter the front entrance at the MK I almost feel as if I am coming home. This is my most favorite place on earth (next to my own home of course).:)

I know I posted that I like the AK, but I was thinking about it and I also like when you come to the MK and you walk under the train station, which is dark and then all of sudden there it is, DisneyWorld. The contrast from the dark area to the birghtness of Main Street makes me feel like I have finally make it. I just LOVE IT.

Love the World Showcase at Epcot, especially at night. A close second would be Main Street in the MK!

My nostalgic vote: MK, and its because of what webmomom mentioned. Going under the train station and seeing Disney World is kind of like going into a cathedral, like St. Peter's in Rome. You walk through a dark, slightly confining opening and, suddenly, you're in a whole new world: open, awe-inspiring, colorful, so different from the "outside" world. Those Disney architects were geniuses..it wouldn't have been the same if you could see all of main street from the turnstiles. It was breathtaking when I was a just a kid, and it's breathtaking now.

But I am a recent fan of AKL. It really immerses you, and I like that it's not as amusement park-y-- even the concession stands are discrete and themed. I just love all the details in foliage and the props-- trekking gear leaned against the wall, old lorries, etc. Plus it almost seems intimate-- there could be thousands of people in the park, but the flow of people is well managed. Pretty darn awesome.

Currently, :umbrella:,

I love EPCOT at night. Just looking across the lagoon waiting for the fireworks to start makes me melt!

World Showcase! There are so many places to sit back, relax, and just look around. Also, IllumiNations is the best nighttime show at WDW!
