We might try an occasional salad during our trip to help balance out all the other stuff we'll be eating. Any that you really recommend or any that you don't recommend? Thank you!

I would love to know this too. Seems there are no "normal" salads anywhere. Any ideas?

Let me start by saying I am THE pickiest eater EVER. That being said one day DH & I were walking along the Broadwalk Hotel by the shops/stores. We were just checking it all out. (We were staying at AKL and wanted to see BWI)! Well it was like 1pm and we were hungry and DH wants to get a salad. He decides to get a salad in the Broadwalk Bakery...YUP! And I am like, NO WAY :sad2: ! I do NOT want a salad from in there...well we went in and looked at them and we ordered one. A garden salad with chicken and two diet cokes. I was extremely hesitant BUT I have to admit it LOOKED good.

LONG STORY SHORT.......it was F A B U L O U S!!! ::yes:: I am NOT kidding you. OUTSTANDING! We INHALED that salad. Who would have thought....from a bakery???

ANYWAY, for anyone else reading this POST....try it you will LOVE it  !

I've only had one salad in WDW and I loved it. It was a chicken salad at Tusker House with a vinegrette. YUMMMMMM!

I have to have one every trip, though we did miss it on our 4day in january....

I Tripple that! I wish you could just buy them on the outside!

My vote is for the Plaza Resaurant at MK...

They have a Chicken, Gorgonzola, Strawberry (or pear depending on season) salad with a vinegrette... It is FABULOUS!!! My absolute favorite meal on property...

I had 2 chicken salads (basically a regular salad with a couple of pieces of chicken in it) on my last trip. One at Tusker House in AK, and one at Sci-Fi. Both were AWFUL!! Especially the one at Sci-Fi. The chicken was hard as a rock, and I couldn't even cut into it.

I can't eat those huge meals all day long (we had the dining plan) and I just wanted something light.

The brown Derby's Cobb Salad is the best salad I have ever eaten!

We also enjoy the mandarin orange chicken salad from Back lot express, the sald at Pinocchio's at MK is good (the one without the meat). DD and DS liked the caesar salad at Cap'n jacks.

An aside, back when the Caslte was known as King Stefan's banquet hall they had one of the trastiest salads--It was called Cinderella Salad and it had strawberries in it with a vinagrette dressing--unbelieveable! It was so huge too--they brought it to the table and tossed it then served it to your plate--I really wish I could have that again!

The salad I had at restaurantasaurus at AK was pretty bad. It was some kind of Chinese Chicken salad with the worst tasting cucumbers I have ever had.

I really like the bleu cheese salad they have at Crystal Palace.

I loved the salad bar at Boma. Acutally, the salad bar and the deserts were the only things I really liked at the Boma buffet. I must be weird because the meats there were tastless to me.

If you make is to DTD, check out Wolfgang Puck Express. It's included on the dining plan and they have great food! The chicken caesar salad was great and very fresh. :sunny: They have other salads too!

My favourite salad is at the Earl of Sandwich in DTD. It's some kind of asian chicken salad but I forget the name of it. They make it fresh for you and it's served in a Chinese takeout container. I have to get one every trip!

The takeout window on the Boardwalk also has a nice salad with fresh strawberries on it but I find it a bit overpriced.

Does anyplace still have a taco salad? They used to have it years ago.. it was lettuce, seasoned beef, etc?? I would go to any resort or park to have this again! :Pinkbounc

Tangierine Cafe has good Tabouleh, Lentil Salad, Marinated Olives, and Tangierine Couscous Salad. Artist's Palette at SSR has a nice house salad with spring mix, candied nuts and cranberries. Columbia Harbor House has a good salad with chicken, pineapple, and feta cheese. LTT at lunch has the Colony Salad - rotisserie chicken, Washington apples, sweet pecans and applewood smoked cheddar tossed with field greens in honey shallot vinaigrette. I recommend ordering the salads with the dressing on the side, as WDW tends to drown their salads in dressing. You will also get a fresher one that way since they have to make it to order.
