Best Option to get from MCO to Cruise Port

In November we will be taking a cruise. We are travelling with another family who will be flying out of a different airport than us. We most likely we won't be arriving at airport at same time, so am wondering what our cheapest options are for getting to the hotel strip at Port Canaveral adn returning to MCO? Our family has 4, their family has 5 people. Should we rent two cars for the one day each way? Should we each rent a limo/towncar? Obviously if we land within an hour or two of each other, we'd wait and go together...in that case, what are the best options for a group of 9? Any thoughts? Thanks, Jo
