I love the Food and Wine Festival, and I love Christmas at Disney. I may be able to plan a third trip for 2013 (already going in Jan and Aug). I was trying to decide between October for Food and Wine (also my 15th anniversary), and middle of December for the Christmas decorations. Then I started wondering if my two favourites overlapped? It looks like if we go November 9-16th I can experience the best of both worlds! Please correct me if I'm wrong before I get too excited. The bonus is that it looks like one of the lower points seasons for DVC.:)

You may need to a little earlier, then you can get a MNSSHP and a MVMCP in the same trip. Check out the dates from this year. I think the MVMCP started Nov 9 this year.

You will sorta get the best of both worlds. You will certainly get SOME of two worlds. The downside of going at that time with the F&W is that you will hit the exceptionally busy weekend time, which is manageable, but just very crowded.

We did the same thing in 2011. The Christmas decorations were mostly up by the end of our trip. Osborn was going the whole time, and MVMCP was going on the whole time we were there. The trees were up in the parks. The MK was completely decorated, and the rest of them were fully decorated by the time we left. The same is true of the resorts. By Thursday when we woke up the Beach Club was decorated.

We missed the Candlelight processional and we missed the holiday tag for Illumintaions, as those both start after Thanksgiving.

We thought this time was great, we have another trip planned for the same time next year!

Agree with other posters that you get food and wine and most of christmas decorations over veterns day weekend

Not sure if others agree, but i seem to get larger portions on the last day of food and wine..... Perhaps because they are getting rid of their food from the booths?

All perfectly described. Don't discount that first part, F&W is a madhouse that last weekend. I think in addition to the travellers, the locals are also getting in their last taste. We go this same week (or calendar equivalent) every year, mainly because it just works for our schedule. The weather is also generally very pleasant that time of year as well.
