We've been to WDW many different times of the year (including Nov.) and we really like Nov the best, when everything is up for Christmas and we are looking at maybe going this Nov. Since it has been several years since we were there in Nov. does anyone know of any Nov. dates to stay away from?I know that Thanksgiving is a date that the parks get really full but does anyone else know of any other dates?I think that they put up the Christmas things up around Thanksgiving,so I'd like know if anyone knows for sure when they might go up?

Decorations tend to go up gradually. We were at POR in very early Nov one year and on the last day we woke up to find a huge Christmas tree in the lobby!!! By Thanksgiving week just about everything is up. Could you go the week-end after Thanksgiving and stay for that next week? We found that to be a great time to go. I wish I could have stayed past that Wednesday until the week-end. The crowds are small and the weather is terrific. Otherwise I would say go with the week before Thanksgiving and come home the Sunday before T-day.

The last 3 times I was at WDW it was the week after Thanksgiving. That is when we will be going this year. I know that many if not all the decorations were up by the end of that week. In my family's books the week after Thanksgiving is the best week to go.

As soon as I figure out the directions I want to put in a countdown.

Have fun!

We're going the week after Thanksgiving as well. Tessq, how were the crowds? We've heard it is fairly calm at that time of year, but WDW vacations seem to be SO popular right now. (Of course, it could be that I am a parent now and everyone I know is planning a WDW with their kids, lol!)

I was there the week after Thanksgiving this year and the crowds were nonexistent. We did not have to wait for any ride in any of the parks. I am not kidding, this was the best time ever and we have been many times. The only line we stood in was for the Candlelight Processional. And that was only because we didn't do the dinner package. This show is phenomenal by the way. It actually gave us goose bumps.
November is a great time to go weather wise. Try to avoid supersoap weekend. I am not sure what weekend it is, but I hear it is a madhouse.
Have fun!!!

We were just there (2004) the week before Thanksgiving week. The weekdays were fantastic!! The weekends were (of course)busy! Just somethings to keep in mind for Nov:

Super Soap Weekend - Dates not announced yet
Festival of the Masters - Nov 11 - 13, 2005
Jersey Week - a little later than usual in 2005 (you do not want to be in the World during this week - been there done that.........)
Epcot Food and Wine - ends Nov. 13
Veterans Day
Election Day

I would still recommend that last full week before Thanksgiving, leaving on the Friday or Saturday. I would stay away from the parks on the weekends and you should be fine. We never even needed a Fastpass until the MK on Thursday. MGM didn't even have the machines up and running - walked onto almost everything.

There were some decorations up, but I must say they just looked really out of place. We kind of didn't even notice them as it wasn't even Thanksgiving yet.

Traditionally, the weeks between Thanskgiving and Christmas have been slow, but that seems to be changing - lots of folks want to take advantage of lighter crowds, but still want to see the decorations. From everything I read, this past year was not so slow in late Nov/early Dec.

So much fo the not crowded the week after Thanksgiving, I'll be there too.
What about the whole Pop Warner thing? I have been a bit concerned about that adding significant numbers, but then again, I hate having to wait AT ALL.
In a deluxe, would you even notice that group, or are they mainly in values and not in the parks?

Sounds like the post-Thanksgiving week might be busy.

Pop Warner is scheduled to arrive on Dec. 4th.

We went years ago the week before Thanksgiving and the crowds were nil. This year we have considered this week but we would arrive on Veterans Day (Nov. 11th and a Federal and sometimes a School Holiday) this will also probably be the weekend of Super Soaps and also it looks like the weekend of the Golf Tournament so now we are debating if this is a good week to go...although no one in this thread seemed to mention it :teeth: We are also considering the Dec 4th thru 11th week with the Pop Warner crowd....but I don't know.
Good luck making your decision.

Can anybody tell me when Jersey week is this year? Is it really that bad?
:teeth:

Well.........add us to that list! :Pinkbounc We'll be there the day after Thanksgiving until Dec. 5th. Anyone else staying in CSR? Will anyone be wearing their lime green?

We are going Nov 27th, whatever that saturday right after thanksgiving is. Im so excited, a family friend went last year durning that time and said she literally waited on no lines too, so im really excited about that! I hope its the same in 2005 too!!

We were orginally gonna go Dec-5-13 something like that but changed our plans once we heard Pop Warner was going to be there I think the 4-11th. Not that we have problems with cheerleaders and stuff but we know someone who said if u can choose you dont want to be there durning that time, especially if u are staying at a Moderate Resort like AllStar ext.

Just an FYI - Nov. 27 is a Sunday.

I believe Jersey Week is Nov.7-11. We are going this week. We also went during Jersey Week in 2003 and we didn't experience the crowds that people talk about(just lucky I guess! :) ). Also I think Super Soap Weekend is Nov.11-13.

We will be there Nov 27th-Dec 4th. Anyone staying at the Boardwalk?? Is Monday still busier than other days at the Magic Kingdom?? I have seen many posts saying to avoid Monday but does that still apply the week after Thanksgiving?? Thanks for the input!

We're driving from Atlanta on 11/23, staying one reward night at a Holiday Inn (the only free night of the whole trip  ). We check-in at WDW on 11/24 (Thanksgiving), we're booked in at WL for the entire say, although I'll be flexible with the resorts to get the best rates available at the time the codes may be released for our dates. I have a feeling that it's not going to be as tranquil as when we visited the same time in 2003, but we're staying *fourteen* days, so we'll have plenty of time to see everything and enjoy our resort at a lovely relaxing pace.
