best non-ride experiences at Galaxy's Edge

That's Kylo Ren's TIE fighter. He makes appearances there occasionally. You had the SW fireworks music in that area, right?
Thank you for identifying the location!

Yes, we heard the SW music. We didn't see the droid that introduces the show.

Thanks so much for all of these ideas!! If I can remember how to quote, I'll reply to some of you guys' comments ha. I'm feeling more excited overall now about the land -- thank you! :) Some of you mentioned the bazaar, but I don't see it on the map. Whereabouts is it?

And watch the water fountain at the bazaar (end nearest Rise).

It can be fun to work on translating Aurabesh writing—especially at that water fountain.
Ooh, as a language nerd that sounds fun ha. How are you able to translate it? Is there a code, dictionary, or clues?

If you have a MB + and the Play Disney app, there is a Bounty Hunter game. However, you might not be able to do it while seated in a wheelchair.
Which part of the experience do you see as being difficult in a wheelchair? Do you need to move up and down to pick up signals? Our wheelchairs do elevate...We can't go up and down while moving, though, so if a lot of that is required, it might not work for us. I did see that you have to scan your band in some recessed area. I can't move my arms well enough to do that, but I'm thinking my caregiver could do that part for me. Would that work? Do you need to be able to look down at your band by the way or just feel it? My wrists are tiny, so I'd need to wear my band higher up, and I don't think I'll be able to see it too well. The bounty hunting thing would be our main motivation for buying the Magic Bands, so I just want to make sure they would work okay for us before buying them.

I think the Play Disney app can translate, but it doesn't take long to learn the character set yourself. (In case you can't guess, it's just a nonstandard English character set.)

You should actually be fine to ride MF:SR. If you can transfer out of your wheelchair, they do have two GWD cabins.

I don't think I'd recommend the bounty hunter game in a scooter, as it involves a LOT of back and forth all over the land which even got annoying being fully ambulatory.

If you're up for the cost of building a lightsaber, that experience is one of the best things in the entire land. Going and experiencing Oga's Cantina is also a fun and unique thing to do.
What is a GWD cabin? The transfer for Smuggler's Run does look pretty easy, but the problem is, from all the pictures I've seen, all the seats are by themselves. I'm not strong enough to be comfortable sitting by myself in case I need help balancing. With the bounty hunter game, is it a lot of back and forth even if you only do one, um, I don't know what you call it ha, bounty? The lightsabers look awesome, but unfortunately I just can't justify the cost!
Galaxy's Edge is so immersive my family just loves being there. Walking around, looking at the shops and seeing characters. We always like to get a blue milk at the milk stand.

Oga's is pretty popular and worth a visit.

We've seen alot of great characters. Last time R2D2 was all excited because he saw himself on my husband's shirt :)

It's hard to say about Rise. I have a bad back and can't ride roller coasters but I'm fine on Rise because the movements aren't jerky. But probably your best way to know if it's ok is to get your dad's opinion.

The bathrooms are really neat!
Thanks for this input! That's encouraging about Rise because jerkiness is my issue, too. I do fine with rides that have smooth motions like Soarin' and Radiator Springs Racers (though with that one unfortunately I think the transfer may be too difficult for us now:(...). Do you remember if there are any sudden stops by chance?

You need to hold the MB+ up to the console to get your assignment. Then you follow the cues on the band to track down your bounty green/red lights for hot/cold, and I think some vibrations). When you find the bounty, you scan the location in the Play app, then you return to the assignment area to turn in the bounty and get your credits (hold the MB+ in the recessed reader).

There are videos on YouTube that demonstrate. The difficulty with a wheelchair might be having to use a ramp and go a roundabout way to the bounty’s location and return.

Yes, this. My DH learned the alphabet so he can read the signs without the need for the translator. Even I learned a few letters.

That is the TIE Echelon - it's bigger than a fighter. It was supposed to appear in Rise of Skywalker, but didn't. Kylo's fighters were the TIE Silencer and TIE Whisper. [/NERD] 🤓

Maybe this photo shows the ship in more detail.

We were told that there were three places to watch fireworks. The best (#1), and most crowded, is by MF. Second best was in this location, outside of First Order Cargo. Third was by the Droid Depot.

Last year, I watched Wondrous Journeys from the MF area and it was a great view. That area is now filled with super fans which, for some, adds to the experience.

Interesting. So even though this is Kylo's ship at SWGE, he never actually used it in the movies?

No. Apparently it was planned to be in Rise, but was cut. It appears to be more of a command shuttle than a fighter, likely the replacement for the one he used in TLJ with the wings that stick up. It is definitely more in the style of the Silencer/Whisper though, which have the Interceptor style pointed wings.

Guests With Disabilities. There are two, separated from the rest of the "normal" ones, so that folks who might take a little longer getting in or out don't feel pressured to speed themselves up.

The thing about the bounties is that you don't know where your bounty is going to be found, so you have to wander to various different doorways until it tells you that you found the right one. How much wandering it takes depends on how lucky you are.
