Best non Disney Buffet

What a child might consider fine food and what an adult might consider fine food might be two different things. If a chain is good enough, the Sizzler on International Drive might do. I ate there. It is not fancy. There is soup, sald, the usual stuff on their buffet. It took us no more than five minutes to get through the cashier's line on a rather busy night so it's a possibility if you have hungry little one's who just want to eat NOW.

My family likes Golden Corral.. again, this is a chain, nothing fancy but good food and great dessert bar...:thumbsup2

We like Golden Corral, Sweet Tomatoes and there are several Chinese buffets in the area. OTOH your kids may just prefer Cicis, they are all over the Orlando area.

Our kids liked Sizzler - with 4 children it was difficult to find a place where they were all happy but there was something that they all liked :cool1:. The two younger ones would have eaten purely from the buffet :wizard:.

Thanks for the input. We live in a small KS town so they do not get the opportunity for much besides Wendys. They love it when we go on vacation and find nice buffets that have foods they can't get at home. They love crab legs and shrimp but at 4 and 6, don't have the ability to sit through a 2 hr. meal!
Thanks

If you and your family are into seafood, you might enjoy the Boston Lobsterfest buffet placie. It isn't real cheap, but it does have some great choices in seafood. I think the last time we were there it was about $24 a person for their dinner and I know that lunch is cheaper (or anytime before 4 or 5 pm?). Being from the midwest myself now too, I know we love any opportunity to eat seafood when we get to a coastal town.

Has anyone been to Golden Corral or Sweet Tomatoes recently? I'm just wondering what the per person price is for the buffets right now. TIA!

The Golden Corral is close to DTD on SR 535. I always use a coupon when I dine there. When I go to Wal-Mart, I pick up several coupon books and I usually find the coupon in those booklets. :thumbsup2

I agree with OP about the Lobster Feast on I-drive. YUMMY!

We also like the Golden Corral and Sweet Tomatoes. I think Golden Corral is in the $10-$11 range for adults at dinner. They would get their shrimp there depending on the night you go. We like dinner as they have steaks at dinner.

With the exception of Sweet Tomatoes, I have never been overly impressed with any of the buffet restaurants. Some were OK, but Sweet Tomatoes (IMHO of course) is the best of the bunch.

You might try Joes Crab Shack. Not a buffet, but several people have said it was good. Bonus is that there is a playground outside.

As long as there are no nut allergies, Logan's Roadhouse (again not a buffet) is a neat place to go. There are buckets of peanuts around that you shell and deposit the shells on the floor. My kids love it there (DD was last there age 3.5)

Another one of my kids loves is the Kobe Japanese Restaurant. They cook the food in front of you on a hot plate. A meal and entertainment in one. (it kept my DD who was 18months at the time entertained).

Hope that helps,

--Kay

Sizzler and Sweet Tomatoes...both a big yum. Cici's is okay for a cheapie. Ruby Tuesday doesn't have a buffet as such, but they do have a really decent salad bar. If your kids are adventurous, the Sunday brunch buffet at Memories of India (Sand Lake and Turkey Lake Roads, near Universal) is the best.
