What is your favorite restaurant on property that is not on the DDP? Bonus: what is your favorite dish at that restaurant?

We will be going in September and will be paying OOP, so we want to try some places that are not the same ol', same ol' (which tend to be at the parks and Disney hotels).

I presume most of these will be at the Swan or Dolphin, but maybe not??

I think everything but the ones at Swan/Dolphin are on the dining plan now....

Everything considered a TS is on the dining plan now except Swan/Dolphin, Shades of Green and Victoria & Albert's.

The best of those is Victoria & Albert's but it's a production, not just a meal. If you're not prepared to dress up, leave the kiddies behind and splurge big time it's not what you are looking for.

At the Swan/Dolphin, I like Bluezoo, Il Mulino and Kimonos. (They're not any cheaper than the Disney restaurants though)

There's not much left on property that isn't on the dining plan. The best of the best is Victoria & Alberts. It's consistently ranked as one of the top 50 restaurants in the US. My favorite dish there is the wagyu beef. I'm not a meat eater; I may have meat once a month, but this dish is the best meat I've ever had.

The only other restaurants not on the plan are those at the Swan/Dolphin. The three upscale restaurants are very adult and are better than Disney's signatures and there are a few more casual places. My favorite is bluezoo. I've never had a bad course here but my favorite dish is the scallop appetizer.

Tutto Gusto is not on the DDP. (And I read that you can order from the Tutto Italia menu if you feel like it, though the Tutto Gusto offerings look good to me!)

Also, is the "High Tea" at the GF "off" the DDP??? I am thinking it's not on DDP, but I could be wrong about that.

And I seem to recall that the sushi bar at the Poly is off the DDP, and all of the Resort Lounges are off DDP (and the menus look pretty good on some of them - I want to try the one at the Wilderness Lodge; I believe some of the lounges even offer the same menus as their respective restaurants).

Thanks, those are some great ideas!

Tutto Gusto also doesn't take reservations, and isn't listed as a table service restaurant. (They do have servers though).

The Garden View Tea Room is also not considered a table service restaurant (although it also has servers) and does not take the dining plan.

The Kona Sushi bar at the Polynesian accepts TS credits.
