Best Night for Remy

I booked Remy for our second night of a four night Dream cruise. It'll be my second Disney cruise and first time on one of the new ships (first one was on the Magic) I've been to Victoria and Albert's so I think I'll like Remy, right? Is the second night a good time to go? I don't want to miss too much. I was looking at the navigator for the last Dream cruise and the second night they had a movie (I think because the new Beauty and the Beast show hasn't started yet) I saw this on Broadway so I think I'm okay with missing it even though I love it. I'm just second guessing myself.

The new show is scheduled to start in November when the new Dream cast comes aboard, so it will be going by the time you cruise in December.

Personally I'd go Pirate Night as that menu has the least options for me since I'm gluten-free and those options are just ick.

I thought of doing that, but I really liked watching the fire works last night and I think Jack Sparrow actually does stuff on the Dream that I'd like to see. It says dinner is 3 hours I have it at 6pm-9pm. Would that be enough time to see the pirate show? I don't remember what time that happened. We also didn't get to try out the pirate menu last time because we had a Christmas dinner instead.

I honestly don't remember - we did the Dream in 2013. And the whole Pirate show thing isn't a huge priority for me.

Typically, on the Dream (and Fantasy) there's a Mickey and friends (famiy friendly) pirate show between the two dinner seatings (around 7:30). Then, following the second dinner seating, there the Buccaneer Blast followed by the fireworks. That's usually at 10:30.

Oh so then our dinner ending at 9 would work perfectly for that

Yes I think so. We've done Remy twice for dinner, once for brunch and once for the dessert tasting and we've done V&A's eight or nine times. V&A is slightly better because of the ability to get fresh ingredients which also gives them slightly more flexibility to substitute ingredients if they have something that hadn't expected or planned. I can't eat seafood so V&A's makes up a separate menu for me; I've had them make changes at the last minute (i.e., server asks if it's OK if the chef adds some bison to a previously planned-to-be vegetarian course about 20 minutes before it's served. Of course I said yes - like I'm going to second guess him - and it was brilliant). That's not likely going to be possible at Remy's although they can certainly accommodate dietary issues but just on a more limited option basis, working with what they have there (although they can work magic with what they have). It's definitely in the same ballpark (it's too bad that the dessert experience is not offered on the shorter cruises AFAIK because it was so much better than I expected even though I wasn't really sure what to expect. I had no idea you could eat so many variations on dessert one after the other without being overwhelmed with sweetness and no two were remotely alike. Tropical fruit ravioli in a fruit sauce, sigh...just thinking about it makes me nostalgic for our time there).

Should be. The pirate show (the later one) is 10 or 10:30. We have late seating and usually take our time and still make it in plenty of time.
