We'll be visiting DCA for one day next month to say goodbye to Bug's Land and I was wondering if there are any must-try foods in the park that are newish (we last visited in October). Are any of the Pixar Fest treats not to miss? This is obviously of the utmost importance as I want to use my one day of Disney snacks wisely. :rotfl2:

I haven't tried it yet but during the Churro Challenge I heard the "Ants on a Log" version in Bugs Land was great.

I tried the Ants on a Log churro and it was pretty good. It's basically a churro, with some glaze and chocolate rice cereal (aka cocoa crispies) sprinkled on it. Messy, but good!

The chilled (color changing) noodle salad at the Lucky Fortune Cookery was also pretty good. It's an Asian-flavored glass noodle salad.

I don't know which one they'll be offering next month, but the seasonal/monthly special macron or whoopie pie at Schmoozies is also usually pretty good.

A friend tried the carrot cake churro while we were there last week and she said it was fantastic, especially with the cream cheese/raisin dipping sauce.

That's not in DCA, though.

The special Pixar corndog was pretty good, although very heavy. Good to share.

The Mike Wazowski whoopie pie at Schmoozies is awesome!

The Pixar layer cake is worth getting.

The Bug's Land churro is like a cinnamon roll. It's good, but needed more icing, IMO.

The new menu at Flo's is good. Lots of new dishes.

Have a lemon soft serve. My son is excited for that since it's dairy free. Go big and get it snow capped. Then let me know if it's any good.:hyper:

Be prepared to wait in a VERY long line for this. Like, take the standard Dole Whip line and triple it.

Ha! I waited 40 minutes weekend before last. Dairy is not my friend & I wanted to try it, so had no issues with waiting (have an AP, so can go more frequently). I got the snow capped version, and while I love white chocolate (and it tasted great), it really made it harder to eat the cone. The lemon soft serve was melting & trying to eat the snow just pushed down the melting lemon part outside the cone (was a sticky mess - and not a hot day, would hate to think how fast it will melt in the late summer). Next time, I will just get the lemon soft serve in a cup - was refreshing & nice being dairy free! (Though I would not say it is worthy of a 40 minute wait).

Thanks for the feedback. I don't think I'd wait 40 mins either. I wouldn't get him the one with chocolate because he wouldnt like the chocolate probably. Is this one coming to mobile ordering? What time do they open?

No mobile ordering will be available here. Opens at 10:30am.

Thanks. Bummer on the ordering. Maybe they'll get someone walking the line like they do at Dole Whips. Or maybe we'll luck out. Otherwise he'll have to wait a year or two when we return to try it.
