Best moderate resort for famlies?

We are putting together trip for our family of 4- 2 children ages 4 and 6. We got a great resort discount so are planning to stay in a moderate resort. Without the discount we probably would have stayed in a value resort. The travel agent we have been working with has suggested Port Orleans French Quarter She said that it is smaller than the other moderate resorts and would be less spread out for our family with young children. Probably because it is smaller it appears to have less amenties including no sit down restaurant. This could be a problem for us as we are considering the meal plan. I've read some feedback that CBeach was dirty and that Coranado Springs was very spread out and had a corporate feel. We originally wanted to go to Port orleans Riverside but agent has suggested that this resort is quite large as well. Seems that POR has lots of amenties. Any feedback??? Thanks- Debi

I think POFQ is great for a young family. The resort is more compact so there isn't much distance to where you want to go. There is only one bus stop and the pool is alot of fun for the little ones. French Quarter is a sister resort to Riverside and it is so easy to walk or boat to Riverside to use their amenities including their sit down restaurant. For me the meal plan wouldn't be a problem at FQ.

I would stay with the French Quarter reservations. Wonderful choice.

Hello! I'm a newbie here so I can't suggest a specific place to go. If it makes a difference to you on the package, the Pepper Market and Mayan Grill at the Coronado Springs is not included in the deal. I just found this out tonight. Since I have older children, their theme appeals to us, and they are the only mod. with high speed internet access we are still staying there on the package. I really didn't plan to eat at the resort much anyways, so those two not being included is no biggie to us. I have read a lot of positive comments about Port Orleans Riverside though on my searches. I hope this helps!

Port Orleans French Quarter is the ONLY way to go.You won't be disappointed.

My vote would be for POR. ALthough it is more spread out the landscaping is gorgeous so you wont mind walking. Ask for a building near the main centers (Oak Terrace) or (AB 14, 15 and 18). THe kids will like seeing all the bunnies , the fishing hole, and they've added a campfire program for kids. Plus they have a full service sit down restaurant. The River Roost has a great show at night with Bob Jackson and they also offer carriage rides. Your kids will love POR.

We've stayed at CBR and liked it. We requested a close building to the food court and it was great.

We're staying at POR in May and I can't wait. I've heard such good things about this resort.

Coronado is beautiful! It is incredibly spread out though.
We liked POR better. We stayed in Partiere Place & it was lovely.

We've stayed at both the CBR and POR. At CBR we had a room close to the food court and the main area. It was beautiful but as others have stated, spread out. A lot of walking but you're on vacation, the sun will be shining so enjoy. We stayed at POR again near the main artery of things. Building 14. Although this resort is large the walk is not nearly as bad as it sounds. You can "get there from here". We are staying again at POR in 3 weeks this time with our grandkids. We're staying in the mansions. There is so much to do here you won't even think about the walk. We POR better than any we've stayed at before.

We enjoy CBR--never saw dirty there--very layed back--great food court and kids playground--asked to stay at martnique or barbados, not to far from food court.
