We are going in July with friends of ours. We both have kids that are older 17-23. Wondering what is the best fit for us. The pool is good but not something we will spend a lot of time at. Your comments are most welcomed!:cool1:

For older kids, I would do CSR. Nice pool, and some fun eating/lounge areas. It feels "Disney" but not in a kiddie way.

I agree with the previous poster that CSR is a great choice with older kids. I've stayed twice before with my son who is now 18. We are staying on our arrival night this January before we start our package at BWI. Our previous stays were longer than one night. He asked to stay here for our initial night this trip. I really like that each section has great quiet pools in addition to the large main pool. My favorite quiet pool was Casitas (it was large). We spent a great afternoon here one day. As the pp stated, it isn't over the top Disney but it does have a great theme better suited for older kids.

I think a plus for the POR resort is the boat to downtown Disney. The kids might enjoy doing this on their own.

A third vote for Coronado Springs. Queen-sized beds and resort themeing that is a bit more sophisticated. The pool is a lot of fun too.

This is our favorite moderate resort. Centrally located so that it's quick to get to all of the parks.

great info. and we will certainly keep this in mind when making our decision!

We just got back from a week at Port Orleans Riverside and LOVED it! The grounds were beautiful, it was very relaxing, the main pool was a lot of fun and the food court had great selections. This was our first trip so I have nothing to compare it to, but we'd definitely stay here again.

I'd also suggest CSR for older kids and teens - good food choices, comfy beds, sliding doors at the vanity for privacy when getting dressed, great pool and slide, large hot tub, fitness center, spa, night club for those over 21, and great bus service.

POR might also be a good choice. We haven't stayed there, but it is said to have a great food court, and it offers the boat to DTD. CSR offers a bus to DTD, so they can still get there, but the boat would be cool.

Another vote for POR- they might like to take the boat to Downtown Disney and be on their own for a while.

POFQ also offers the free boat ride to DD, but their pool is geared for younger children. My DH likes the hot tub at POFQ, though.

POR or POFQ. POFQ has only one pool, but you may use any of the quiet pools or the main pool at POR.

POR's food court is amazing in its choices and quality of food. Staying at either resort would give you access to both POR & POFQ's food courts. It's only about a 5 minute walk between the two resorts. Teenagers would actually like this walk.

The boat to Downtown Disney is a plus.

The cleanliness of both resorts needs to be commended. The rooms, as well as the common areas, are extremely clean.

The personnel at both of the Port Orleans resorts are very kind and extremely helpful. They seem to do it all with a smile.

We enjoy staying at both of these resorts very much. Good luck to you in your choosing! Have a great time! :goodvibes
