Best Mod for solo trip?

Typically I stay at DVC resorts with my DBF...but next year, after my 40th birthday trip (with a group of friends) I plan on staying for about 5 days solo.

I am looking at staying at a mod for the first time, and wondering what you all think is the best resort for someone staying solo, in this category?

I plan on going to the parks, but not commando style, occasionally relaxing by the pool, and just enjoying myself in general.

My top two choices right now are POR and CSR. I hear great things about POFQ, but am nervous that it's too limiting.

CBR themeing is not appealing to me...but maybe I'm missing something?

I would appreciate any opinions.

I would say CBR.. Even though you said the theming doesn't seem appealing you did say you want to relax by the pool. CBR has numerous hammocks around the lake that you can veggie in. There are little alcoves you can stroll though admire the flowers sit on a glider and relax. I think you would enjoy it.

French Quarter because everything is so close, so when you are walking back late at night you feel a lot safer, I would find CBR to spread out if I were on my own. I'm heading off for my fourth solo stay at FQ and it's easily my favourite resort, when I come back from late, late EMH I don't want to have to worry about how far to walk. Yes, I know Disney is safe, but, it's also nice to be able to get to the food court easily and to the bus stop.

I will give you a vote for CSR!

I stayed there in April (always travel solo) and LOVED IT. :thumbsup2

The mail pool is great, and large enough you can get away from any crowds. It was a couple of minutes walk from my room in Ranchos and the quiet pool was literally 100 ft from my door. I was also very close to the bus stop.

The landscaping makes the place so nice. The walk to El Centro was very relaxing (about 4 - 7 minutes) as you circle the lake. I also had a great massage in the spa! I had breakfast a couple of morning at Pepper Market, and grabbed some quick items at Ric's. I would not hesitate to go back.

Google "Buzz CSR" for an unofficial website that will give you more than enough info and pictures!

Enjoy your trip! :cool1:

I agree. I'd pick POFQ. You can always visit POR if you feel too limited.

Thanks all! It seems I can't go wrong with what I choose... Though I'm still not sure where that will be. Starting to lean towards POFQ or POR. I might get a chance to stay at CSR in the next couple of years for a conference. I took a look at CBR again, and I know it's a bit silly, but I just don't like the room decor.

Before we became DVC members, POR was my "solo resort" and I loved it every time. Once I asked to be moved because they originally gave me a first floor room that faced the back of the resort, and it had lots of bushes outside, so I was rather uncomfortable (probably shouldn't have been). Since then, I always asked for an upper floor-problem solved!
