Best mod choice for a three year old?

We were planning on doing a split stay between an AllStars and the Poly during value season, but will have to travel during regular season now and the Poly will have to wait awhile. What mod is most appealing to a quiet three year old? My daughter is mostly a homebody, enjoys peace and quiet, likes to swim, and loves to swing on the playgrounds. She's not much of an eater, so food is not a problem as long as they serve Mac and Cheese. We will be going to Animal Kingdom for one day and spending the rest at Magic Kingdom (five nights total). What do you guys suggest? Every time I think I have this all figured out, there's a kink thrown in and I have to start all over!

From everything I've read here, your best bet might be POFQ for the small size and the pool. However, if you want lush landscaping you could do either CBR or POR but both require a lot of walking. I think for a three year old I'd stick with POFQ.

Sorry, I guess I wasn't that much help, eh? :goodvibes

I have been wondering the same thing. I have a son who will be three next year when we go in May and I was thinking about POR as well. Does anyone know what type of activites they have for young children?

I was also thinking about AKL and the WL but geez...the cost is the only thing stopping me. My son loves animals and I know he would just love the AKL.....my son is not a homebody. He wants to be out in the world taking it all in...his mommy is one very tired woman some days! :rotfl2:

We've stayed there and PopCent before (mostly POR). It's never been too big for us. With the way it's layed out I have never been in a spot too far from anything.

We've gone to POR as just a couple, pregnant and with a 2 yo, with a 4 yo and 20 mo, and heading back this summer with a 7 yo and 4 1/2 yo.

Kids love the pool and it's SOOO quiet when you're walking around outside. They love the fountains, fishing, bunnies, etc. They also love the boat ride to Downtown Disney (and we've been on that boat and watched it NOT stop at POFQ because it was already full).

JMHO......

Give CBR a try. My girls LOVE all the pools and all the playgrounds. We pool hop as they want to "check out all the pools" and the same applies for all the playgrounds, we have to hit them all! Its very peaceful and there are lots of small animals (turtles, bunnies, etc) they get to see. They love "exploring" the island enroute to the food court. They also have the Island of the Caribbean Pirate Cruise there. It is breathtaking and beautiful, we just love it!

If size is an issue, then POFQ is for you. If you don't care about size, then theme would be next. Check out my CSR website below for pics and info on CSR. I've been taking my DD there since she was 4 and she loves it.

Not sure of activities they have there but your in DW so I don't think that much matters, there is so much to do there even when you get back to the hotel room. I took my son when he was 3 1/2 and I spet the whole day in the park when we got back to the hotel, he took a bath and feel asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow

I would say to let your daughter choose which one she likes best. Probably by looking at the pool area on Disney's webpage. I'd also check availability.

It's kind of a toss up as to the best one:

POR is my least favorite. POFQ is compact, but my least favorite food court. POFQ has a very cute, but tame water slide. She might be brave enough for it. Probably the best pool for her, but read below.

CSR, CBR, POR are quite large. Least bothersome at CSR because sometimes staff will let you ride on golf carts (or at least they used to do so).

CBR's main pool is being renovated. It is due to open SEpt 15. Before then it willbe closed, but after it opens it looks like it's goign to be REALLY COOL!

CSR has a really great pool! But she proabably is too little for water slide.

All four mods have water (lake or river), so a good chance to see wildlife: ducks, birds, bunnies, etc.

POR and POFQ have a free boat to DTD. If you are going there, it is nice. Otherwise you can just take the boat between the two resorts for fun. CSR and CBR have boats you can rent.

I disliked buses at POR most, second worst was CBR. CSR buses make multiple stops, but are often not crowded. You will see convention folks at CSR (So they may be drinking at times). POFQ buses are sometimes direct, and sometimes they also loop POR.

As far as daily activities,I think that's mostly at the Deluxes. Sometimes the mods will have pool activites. CSR, CBR both have playgrounds. POR and POFQ have horse carriages at night but they are $$.

thanks for the great responses. I have one more thing to throw at you...I am leaning towards POFQ because of size, but CSR also looks very appealing themewise. My only thoughts on my DD is that she is what I call a "clinger"...she tends to want to be held and carried a lot which is why I would worry about the larger resorts. I'm intrigued about the golfcarts at CSR...Do they come around often?

We've stayed at POFQ twice - last year when my daughter was three and in April when she was four. We think it is really the perfect size for us. She loves the pool and the boat to DTD. It is also a very short bus ride to DTD and Epcot. The resort has a nice comfortable, relaxed feeling to it which we enjoy.

My daughter is begging us to go back to a value though - go figure! She likes all the big icons. Our next trip is going to be at POP Century...

POFQ!! POFQ!!:thumbsup2

Have stayed at POR and CSR and liked them both, but I would go with POFQ for the size-and it is just a very calming resort.
