Best MGM Studios Dining Options?

I'm trying to decide this myself. We're going with friends who haven't been before and I've made all our ADRs except for 2 nights. I haven't made one for MGM but wonder if I should do Boardwalk instead. We ate dinner at Brown Derby this year and really enjoyed it but we're only going to one signature next year, California Grill. Prime Time is fun but the food was average. The Spoodles menu on allearsnet looked pretty sparse. Is that menu complete?

Though I'm not a huge fan of Disney Studios dining options, I must say I've never been dissappointed with the Brown Derby. I do stay away from all the other restaurants there. The food leaves a lot to be desired.
Regarding Spoodles, we ate there for the first time this past trip. I was extremely dissappointed. Definitely won't be going back there. My food was tasteless and arrived cold. Flying Fish serves a great meal on the Boardwalk and I must admit Beaches and Cream serves one heck of a hamburger.

We've eaten in both 50's Prime Time and Mama Melrose's. Both served great food and we had good service each time.

We just recently returned from our trip, and we had a very low-key "Uncle" at 50's - no silly shenanagans going on at all. It was a hot day and it was nice to escape the heat for a relaxing lunch. But I'm sure they would tone down the play if you asked them to.

Mama Melrose's was two years ago, but again it was a nice place to rest and refresh for a nice lunch break. My pasta was to die for, and my MiL raved about the flatbread pizza. No one in our group had one complaint.

Hope this helps!

My kids' fav place is the 50's prime time in all of Disney.
We have always had the funniest servers while there so maybe we were just lucky the past 3 or 4 times we went. The food isn't the BEST but if your family has a big sense of humor this is a lot of fun.

My kids LOVE scraping their veggies onto daddy's plate when he isn't looking, making sure to get him in trouble with the server :rotfl:
Last time she put a bib on him and fed him airplane style hahahah
