Hi. We are going to be doing 3 nights, 2 days at Disneyland Paris before our Adventures by Disney Esprit de France tour. I thought we would have some kind of themed dinner on August 1 and then spend August 3 and 4 in the parks. My kids (14, 18, 20) all are food lovers. Any suggestions of favorite restaurants? We love buffets if they are good, but we also love upscale dining and fun, themed dining as well. Thanks!

Our personal favourites which are both in Disney Village are Annettes - american style diner and La Grange at Billy Bob's which is an amazing buffet with a wide choice of foods. We eat at La Grange one evening and it was a welcome respite from the crowds.

We also love the character breakfast at Cafe Mickey - hot buffet and most amazing fruit salad and lots of character interaction. We did the 9:30 am sitting and when everyone else had gone the characters were still doing the rounds!:goodvibes If you are staying on-site at one of the Disney hotels you can get it at a discounted rate.

Happy planning!:goodvibes

Out of the ones i've tried so far - Walts, The Steakhouse, Cafe Mickey, Meal at BBWWS, Annettes and Silver spur steakhouse... Walt's was the best by far.

Walts comes recommended although I have yet to try it (on the plan for the next trip!).

Inventions evening buffet in the Disneyland Hotel is nice and it's a character meal too. There is lots of seafood on it but also lots of other things to eat.

Cafe Mickey is good for character interaction - I've honestly never been that bothered about the food or service (not great imo) but the characters are great here and good fun. We are going to try the pizzas here this time as everyone says they are nice and big enough for 2 to share!

Blue Lagoon inside the Pirates of the Carribean is another that people like - especially if a foodie I think. Again, lots of seafood but lots more as well. You can do lunch or dinner here.

If you have a look at the restaurant stickies at the top of the threads you can see reviews and latest menus kindly posted by Carrie_Cat, they will give you an idea.

One thing to watch out, August will be busy - peak season. So, once you know where you want to eat ensure you book those you really have your heart set on. You can book them 60 days in advance or nearer by telephoning. Some are very popular and do get fully booked.

Walt's without a doubt. :thumbsup2

Other people like Blue Lagoon which is in the POTC ride and Inventions at night does a good buffet with lots of choice but you get characters so I don't know if you want that or not.

The Manhattan restaurant in HNY gets good reviews on other sites too.:goodvibes

HS on- Really dislike Annette's, frozen chips worse than McDo's and tasteless burgers. :scared1: Last time we went the waiters were taking the p out of the customers, :furious: - HS off

If you are real foodies the best option is California Grill in the DLH. The food here was so good when I went (although thats a few years ago now).

That's all great advice. Thanks! After doing a little research, Walt's does look great. What about Auberge de Cendrillon and the Buffalo Bill show? Any input on those 2?

Auberge de Cendrillon has a menu that is not pleasing to everyone - you can have a look at the latest one in the restaurant sticky - but if you like the look at it and want to meet a Princess with a Prince and a couple of mice ;) it could be a pleasant meal. The food is normally well executed afaik

BBWWS is a show with food and unlimited drinks. The show isn't bad, the food is so so but you aren't there for that. It can be a good night out if you have time.

Are you eating in Paris at all on your tour and if you are do you know where you are going as if you are a foodie you can have some great experiences :goodvibes

We have a night "off" from our tour to eat dinner on our own in Paris. Any suggestions?

Have a look on here as these people know their food :goodvibes

A lot of the popular restaurants will be already booked in the evening.

We do lunches now more than dinners as they are easier to get and reasonable

Guy Savoy is very good

Les Ombres would give you a unbeatable view of the Eiffel Tower but I've not had a full meal here

Or if you want to eat on the ET and therefore beat the queues you have Jules Verne

You can look at The Fork which is the English version of a great site that allows you to reserve and get great offers in many many restaurants including big names

Hth and happy dining :goodvibes

I'd just echo what's already been said Walt's is a foodie place for sure, that's why it's always on my list, the dessert menu is yummy too. Inventions is a good character buffet of an evening or for Sunday brunch. Blue Lagoon is a really unique experience we've had a couple of very nice meals in here.

Have a wonderful time and as carrie said you'll find plenty of nice places to eat in Paris, I like to wander off the main streets and find somewhere authentic :goodvibes

Thanks so much. We can't wait! I'm sure I'll have more questions as we get closer.

Finally I thought it was just me who disliked Annette's lol after all the fuss on here we couldn't wait to try it but the portions were nowhere near as big or nice as people said and we waited absolute ages to get a seat.

Personally love the rainforest cafe, though it has no "disney" feel to it, theme wise it's really amazing.

I've eaten here at least once (if not twice) per trip and it's been very good... we did have one occasion where it wasn't great (our first trip) but ever since it's been good quality, I think the chef changed. :)

Just an idea if you like theme!

DFi and I are real foodies, and our favourites as far as food quality were Walts and Blue Lagoon - both far excelled our expectations. The food in Walts was wonderful and the presentation was of a very high quality, whereas Blue Lagoon is great if you want a more fun, themed meal without compromising food quality.

Inventions was good for a buffet, and really fun, but the food wasn't on par with the options at Walts or Blue Lagoon. Go for the characters and dessert buffet, but the starters and mains are nothing to phone home about.

We had three nights at DLP last year and ate at my three favourite restaurants - Walt's, Inventions and Blue Lagoon.

I don't dislike Annette's but I'm not the biggest fan either. It was quite a few years ago that we ate there - all our food was fine, our portions were ginormous and we thought it great value for money but it's too much like a greasy spoon for my liking!

Seems like these are the top 3! If we have the first night there, without entrance to the parks, where should we go? We were thinking of the Buffalo Bill, but that doesn't seem to be a popular choice....

Buffalo Bills show is good but you don't go for the food, its really for the show. So it depends if you want to eat somewhere for the food.

If your going to the parks the first night I would recommend La Grange buffet which is Tex Mex at Billy Bobs in the Village, its the top floor of Billy Bobs, the 2nd floor is off a menu.

Just a word of warning if you are eating in places like Annette's & have burgers & don't like them pink then ask for well done, same with steaks as the French like there meat on the rarer side which isn't to everyone's taste:)

Even well done they were coming back to me pink on our last visit and after returning it twice I gave up.

Agree California Grill looks amazing for foodies (and it is somewhere we hope to eat in November when we go as we will have a babysitter - my Mum! :goodvibes) but I didn't recommend it originally as the OP has children. Imo CG is not a child friendly restaurant - but everyone is different obviously! Plus, the price for a family of 4 would be fairly steep - again depends on budget/age of children etc.

I also wonder whether you'll get much of a view of Dreams from the CG if you eat there quite late? I have never eaten in there but I'm guessing you can see the Castle from there?
