I'm thinking of doing my first ever trip report after our vacation from Oct 13th-20th. Never wrote one before but really thinking about it. In any event, we took part in the dining plan this time around and made all our reservations well in advance. Prior to this vacation we would basically just do counter service and splurge at 1 or 2 places. Last year the DF and I both fell in love with the steak and food at Le Cellier. However, this time around, I have found IMHO, something better.

I am a spicy food lover and one of our dining reservations was at Coral Reef. After the waiter told us a little about each entree, he mentioned a spicy choice,"try the Blackened Catfish" he said. This caught my interest. So i ordered the Cod cake appetizer, Catfish, and key lime pie for desert. This was hands down the best meal I had in disney, and possibly of my entire life. Words cannont describe the party in my mouth devouring each and every bite of the catfish. Very spicy, but so much flavor with the cajun sauce they put on it. Even the cod cake were very good, seemed like the perfect appetizer for the main course. Under the catfish was what taste like cheesy mashed potatoes but I guess they were grits or something, I have no idea as the catfish was too good. Key lime pie for desert was a refreshing after the spicy fish. I know alot of people get the chocolate wave, but I like tart things so I would reccomend this.

My advice is go to Coral and get the Cod Cake, Catfish, Key Lime pie! Your mouth will thank you!:thumbsup2

Mine this year was from the California Grill

Chilled lobster salad salad with orange segments, frisee and a vinagrette

Grilled pork tenderloin with creamy goat cheese, red wine reduction with mushrooms

Warm chocolate souffle with capaccino ice cream and chocolate sauce

Awesome

I tried those, first time with lobster as well, pretty good, but ended up switching when the DF didn't want her shrimp pasta. (which was pretty nasty because there was a good inch of wine that was not cooked out, on the bottom.)
