I am trying to decide between breakfast, lunch or dinner to eat here. I picked dinner but then thought with two kids the breakfast might be a safer bet.

We had lunch there in July 2010. We were a party of 10, including 4 children. My nieces were 9 and 6, and my sons were 3 and 5. All the children enjoyed it, and they had a special kids' menu for them. They also had the cold buffet for appetizers and salads, and everything on the buffet was delicious...and the children enjoyed quite a few of the foods on the cold buffet, like the deli meats, cheese, and salad. It's definitely a great choice for seeing the princesses. My boys are a little older now and specified to me that they don't want to eat with princesses on our July 2012 trip...but they enjoyed it when they were a bit younger! My nieces loved it there.

So, if you prefer to, then keep the dinner reservation. They are so good working with even the pickiest eaters at WDW. But if the adults are not so into the menu, then maybe it would be better to go for breakfast.

We had also eaten at CRT, and although we loved it there too, we all thought Akershus was better for the food, value, and character interaction. Overall it felt a lot less rushed and crazy...remember, so many people dream of eating in Cinderella's Castle, but not as many think of Akershus for princesses at WDW!

Thank You. Maybe I wil do it at lunch time. It's good to know they had a cold buffet. I was just looking at the menu on allears.net and skipped the part that said it had the buffet and appetizers.

I would say breakfast - it's always been our favorite meal there.

The lunch 'buffet' really isn't much - some cold meats and cheeses as I recall - not a big 'wow' nor something that you can 'fill up on'.

Have fun!

They have a great kids menu with pizza, hot dogs, ravioli, chicken breasts, etc. And fro the adults i recommend the meatballs.
have fun

We had breakfast there. It was okay - filled our bellies. We weren't really there for the food, anyway.

I like the smoked salmon at the buffet appatizer its very very fresh. Actually they do fish really well. I think I posted this before but a staff member there told me they go through the most salmon in all of disney world restaurants due to the nature of there menu.

We've never done breakfast, but we've done lunch and dinner. We liked dinner a little bit better menu wise. My kids LOOOOOVE the cold buffet. One kiddo is all about the salami and cheese while the other would probably eat her weight in smoked salmon and shrimp salad if we let her. :lmao:

We had dinner there and no one liked their meals (I remember others having meatballs and fish, can't remember what else) but me - I had the mushroom ravioli and it was really good.

We used to always have breakfast there. It was the typical disney breakfast. We mostly went for the princesses. But in 2009 DH and DD got sick after eating there and refuse to go back. I think it was the sausage b/c that is the only thing I didn't eat that they did. I'd go back, b/c I'm sure it was a fluke. DD has outgrown princess meals anyway, so we have moved on from that tradition.
We have had lunch once, years ago, and I remember not eating much and knowing I wouldn't go back for that meal.

I have only eaten breakfast there so that is the only comparison I have. But... it is great for kids, I loved the food, and if you have an ADR before park open you get to walk through FW before the crowds - a pretty cool feeling. For breakfast, I loved the fact that it was part family style dining (hot dishes of food brought to your table) and part buffet (cold items - patries, fruit, meats, cheese, and fish dishes)

Whichever you choose - enjoy!

Maybe it was just us, but we went with a party of 8 for lunch- 4 kids under 8 - and I don't think ANY of us liked the food. We are pretty adventurous with what we eat, really enjoy world cuisine, but we found this pretty awful (the husbands ate again about 30 min later, LOL). I would shoot for the breakfast if I ever did it again....

Our favorite meal here is lunch. Love the buffet, decent choices for lunch for both kids and adults and nice dessert trio. My son has to eat GF and his best meal last time was here! :goodvibes
