I desperately need NEW LUGGAGE but dont have a ton of money. I travel ALOT on business and the airlines have shredded all of the luggage I have bought at Target over the past 2 years and even an Eddie Bauer bag (from Eddie Bauer store).

Does anyone have a recommendation for a few pieces of GREAT luggage that wont completely break me financially?

THANKS!

I have a set by Ricardo of Beverly Hills, bought at Kohl's. It's a great set, but make sure you Scotchguard and waterproof it! Mine was sitting out by the plane in a rain storm and was soaked! It was waterproofed shortly after that!

I've been really happy with our Lands' End luggage. The carry on bag, especially, looks new (except for a broken zipper pull which I think they redesigned) and it's at least 7 years old.

we got a good deal at Sam's Club last year on great luggage from Samsonite for like $175.00 for 5 pieces. A huge suitcase, and two other suitcases, a carryon and garment bag.

It's black and some kind of strong nylon. Sorry I'm not very good w/ the specifics. I know they come in different colors so if you have a Sam's card or know someone who does it might be worth checking out.

Also, check ebay.

I recently bought this DVF set and I love it. Very sturdy and stylish. The best part was I saw it in Macy's and got for less than 1/2 on ebay. The sellers name is LUGGAGEGUY and he has a ton of luggage.

Check Wal-mart they have American Tourister for under 100.00 dollars.

Also, check out EBags.com. They carry just about all brands and you get a good overview of what's out there to compare. When I "luggage" or "backpack" shop on the internet, I end up back at EBags as their prices are usually a little lower, plus they offer free shipping on some items. I've had to return a few things, which I hate doing, but it's never been a problem, and they ship quickly.

I recommend pretty much anything by Ricardo of Beverly Hills. Costco sells RBH at great prices.

A lot of airline industry people use a brand called "Purdy Neat Stuff." Sturdy steel frames, etc.
# to call: 1-800-722-1793.
Hope this helps.:cool1:

I'll check out those sites and stores. Back across the country for the 6th time in 9 months in 2 weeks so I have GOT to find something soon.

Thanks!!!

I love the LeSportsac bags!!! They have really fun designs and colors which make spotting out the bags easier at baggage claim and they hold really well. Although at the major department stores they can be kind of expensive, at Marshalls and TJMaxx I've found them and were a lot cheaper.

Just about any quality of fabric suitcases will not hold up well to what an airline can do to luggage! I bought hardsider Samsonite luggage and it has faired MUCH better than the top quality fabrics. Bus and train travel are much easier on luggage handling than the airlines.

FunkyRoster- I have LeSportSac and love it for the light weight and the fact that I can fold it into a little bag for storage. I haven't tried to put it through luggage...I thought they would destroy it. Have you tried sending yours through luggage with the airlines?

I have always had good luck at www.irvs.com
(Irv's Luugage)

They sell good quality luggage and often have a great sale section
