Best location & how to request at POFQ?

Once again, I come to the DIS experts for guidance...............

DH and I are staying at POFQ with our 14 month old daughter in May. Of course, I would love to stay in one of the buildings closest to the bus stop, food court, etc. But.....I also need a room that will be fairly quiet since DD is a light sleeper and I would love a corner room so that if she gets fussy at all we will disturb fewer people.

So, I thought I would just request a corner room on an upper level (in hopes that it will be quieter). I figure that gives me a better chance than asking for those two things plus a certain building. What do you thinK?

Also, what's the best way to get this request noted on my ressie? I thought I read that they no longer accept faxes directly to the resorts.

Thanks in advance for the advice!

This is a link to the resort map.

We like buildings 2 and 5, which are in the center of everything, but the resort is small enough that there are no bad rooms. Even though 2 and 5 are near the pool, we never noticed undue noise. We also stayed in 3 one year, and that was a good location, too.

As far as requesting a particular building, just fax to the resort the day before you leave with your request. Some people say they don't pay attention to the faxes anymore, but it has always worked for us.

Have a great trip!

If DD will be in a crib you may want to request a king bedded room, they are on the corners.

I am a big fan on building four. I have stayed in building four several times. It's only a minute from the bus stop and food court, and just a few minutes to the pool and boat dock. Great location.

The rooms at the POFQ are very sound proof. In all the times I've stayed there, I can only recall hearing noise from outside my room twice--once when there were cheerleaders running on the walkway outside my room (not typical), and once I heard a laughing baby through a connecting door).

We love building 5 with a courtyard view. We stayed there last year and we had a third floor room on the corner. It was great!!! Quiet but close to everything!

I have to say I am used to staying in a building flanking the pool (non pool side) and thought those were great. This past trip to POFQ we were put in building 7 and thought "That stinks what a long walk" but it wasn't. In the end due to the compact size of the resort I don't think that there really is a bad room. When you check in make sure you give them your biggest priority first, ie corner room.

Also just to note that the pack and play that Mousekeeping can provide will fit neatly into the sink area tucked to one side. The advantage is that you can pull the drape shut on that area and for us it helped us to get our 9 month old to sleep since he did not see the rest of us as we read quietly.

The front desk CM said that bldgs 2, 3, 4, 5 are the better bldgs as for location. So.. he picked bldg 3 for me, 3rd floor near the elevator facing away from the parking lot.

I have walked around and I have to say... next time I would ask for either bldg 2, 3, or even 1 facing the courtyard (one with the fountain/gardens). It is sooo lovely there and very peaceful. But the best looking bldg is bldg 1. I like the structure on this one. Though it is a little bit of a walk to the food court... it is still not that far at all and those cute little street, I don't mind strolling.

Any bldgs would be fine. The resort is not huge and not spread out.

I can't wait to go back to this resort!! I like this resort a lot!!

We've stayed on the 3rd floors of bldg's #5 and #6, both times we were overlooking the courtyard there. We loved both of those locations!

In Febuary we stayed in the very last room in 3 by the drop off circle and it was great. We basically pulled up to the room to drop off luggage.
I also liked being on the 1st floor, it made it very easy with the stroller.
(the photo in my post is from in front of our room)
The walk was not to far (as compared to the Poly walk we had last year) But we did not use the pool because it was too cool.
I also liked that the pac n play fit into the sink area, it was so perfect for DD at 9 months! BTW, we did not have a King bed, it was 2 doubles.
Have a great time!

You guys are great! I'm not going to worry about which building we're in since they all sound like they're pretty close to everything. I think I'll just ask for a corner room that will be quiet. I love the idea of putting the pack-n-play behind the curtain. That would probably really help my daughter who is used to sleeping in her crib in her dark, quiet room with a humidifier on.

I would love to get a room with a king sized bed, but I don't know if I want to spend the extra money. I'll have to think about that.

Thanks everyone! I feel really good about our choice of POFQ now!

I honestly think there is not a bad building in the bunch

nothing is far away
