My DSIL said she can't go to Florida and not eat Lobster. Where is the best Lobster in WDW?

TIA!

Loved mine at Narcoossee's. It is a definite do over on a future trip.

Others may chime in about Captain Jack's; that will cost just one TS credit if you're on the plan. Narcoossee's is a 2TS meal.

don't really know why you SIL would be looking for lobster in Florida. Lobsters are cold water dwellers and the best are found in Maine and northern Atlantic coastal waters. Almost any, excluding Rock Lobsters, you get anywhere else in the country are flown in from Maine/Mass/New England. We were in Pittsburgh several years ago and saw lobsters being unloaded from a truck. The lobsters originated from the Lobster Pot in Cape Cod, a fabulous seafood restaurant we had eaten in just the week before!!

I love lobster and had twin lobster tails it at Le Cellier and it was the best lobster I have ever eaten. Not just in Disney, but simply the best.

The next night I went to Cap 'n Jacks and had the lobster tail and boy what a difference. It was the same price, but the two could never even have been compared. Cap 'n Jacks wasn't horrible, it was mediorce at best.

However I still think about the Lobster tail I had at Le Celliers. I'm going to be 44 this June and it was probably on the top ten list of one of my favoriate meals.

As you could probably tell, I'm a foodie.

I drink very moderately, don't smoke, but boy could I eat. I'm Italian and I know my food. My wife is a top chef in New York City, my father-in-law has run a catering business for over 40 years and me, I am their loyal food taster.

*nod*nod* You're better off with crab in Florida, since there are several very good crab species indigenous to Florida waters. Lobster isn't really a Florida specialty.

Having said that, however, Narcoossee's is supposed to be quite good.

DSIL is from the Midwest and they don't go out to eat very often and when they do they don't spend extra money on seafood. She was simply saying that since she was on vacation she was going to splurge on some Lobster.

CoolDisneyKitten, I will pass on the info about the crab in case she's interested in that instead.

Anyone else have recommendations for good Lobster.

Go with crab in WDW and than plan a trip to Boston and Legal Seafood for baked-stuffed (w/shrimp and scallops) lobstah.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Legal Seafood!!!!! We're so spoiled here in New England - fresh seafood and the Sox!!!!

But my point is - there IS no good lobster in Florida!

Huh.. What about spiny lobsters? Great eating and they are found in warm waters. I see them all the time diving and many are MUCH bigger than Maine lobsters.

If I was going to Florida for lobster, it would be most likely spiny lobster that I would be eating. :thumbsup2

Glad you cleared that up. I was little confused.

For real Maine lobster (is there any other kind?) try the Town Tavern on Front St. in Celebration. It is run by former Bostonians and serves New England style food. We were there on our last trip and plan to go back on the next one.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

The only disney restaurant is Narcoosees at GF with full lobster. Others may have tails or whatever. There is the one at DTD that was mentioned too.

I like to eat seafood INCLUDING lobster when I am in Florida too. Just because New England is where a great deal of lobster is shipped from, does not mean you have to GO THERE to eat it!:confused3

Not quite sure how a question about the best lobster in *WDW* evolved in to this but anyway.....

OP, we loved Fulton's a few years back. I need to check the menu to see if they still have it, but it was stellar when we dined there.:thumbsup2

ETA: YES! They do still serve it and here is the description: Ultimate Crab & Lobster Experience for Two - Almost 4 lbs of steamed crab and lobster with Alaska king crab, snow crab, Golden crab, and 1 1/4 lb. Maine lobster, with hash brown potatoes and grilled asparagus. $42.95 per person, minimum two people.

It was lovely and worth every penny!

It's not on the Dining Plan, but I'd recommend Todd English's BlueZoo in the Dolphin (Epcot Resort hotel)

The best seafood/fish at WDW.

Here's the menu:

BlueZoo Menu

The dining room is stunning, and the service was phenomenol. Not cheap, but worth every penny in terms of quality.
