My husband and I continue to dance around this one. We usually come out even but we have to fill in some gaps. He likes to take two day trips to WDW. We only live about an hour and a half away. It's easy to get a resort for one or two nights. With this strategy, we can go every few months and eat really well while we are there. My husband likes to get up early and go go go. He gets bored easily. He likes to park hop and keep moving. My approach to vacations has always been more relaxed. I like to sleep late, go to the parks when it's not so hot, spend a day reading by the pool, have a massage, go out to dinner around 8, etc. We mostly compromise. His rationale for short trips is that we can take more of them. However, it's hard to get in any relaxation time with only two nights at the resort. I really want a real, 6 or 7 day vacation so we both get the things we like, and I am willing to spend less time at Disney overall. Ideas to leverage time and energy would be great. We are AP holders and take advantage of discounts when available. We have also rented DVC points and got a great deal on a deluxe resort.

you want one thing and he wants another. really don't know anyway to change his mind, maybe you and your gfs can go on a longer trip. you and your husband both work right? so he can understand you needing some time alone or with others?

I think we are both willing to compromise. At least, we have been in the past. I really want to come to some sort of middle ground. Has anyone else had this experience? I am thinking we can cancel our trips in September and December in order to have a longer trip in May, but I need to make sure the trip has the fun, exciting stuff he likes. He's always talking about the tours at Animal Kingdom.

DW and I live an hour away from WDW.
With our DVC, we use it for short stays throughout the year with usually one 5 night or more vacation at some point in the year. We want to get enough DVC points to stay every month for 2 - 5 nights.
With our DVC we book at some times (like early Dec) every year at 11 months out and at some times we book last minute (been at DTD for the day and decide we wanted to stay the night) checked in with 15 minutes.
