Our book club is looking for good "beach reads". One member suggested we read Kristin Hannah but didn't name any titles. What would you suggest?

Home Front was awesome. I also highly recommend Firefly Lane and Magic Hour.

I think Home Front would be a great book club read.

Oh! Or Winter Garden. That one was one of my favorite KH books.

But I love all the other books listed as well. And I am currently reading The Things We Do For Love and recently read Between Sisters.

I just picked up Night Road on the sale table at Barnes & Noble for $4 yesterday (the sale table was 2 books for $8. I picked up a Janet Evanovich book too).

I loved Firefly Lane!

Thanks so much you guys. I was a bit daunted at the thought of choosing one from so many. That helps a lot.

Once in Every Life is much earlier and one of my favorites. The emotional pain the family is enduring, especially the children is heart breaking. But then, like all her books, it is also quite funny.

Tess Gregory's brilliant career as a research scientist hides her longings for husband and child. Though deaf, she is a free spirit -- a woman full of life and love. She is struck down all too soon.
But for Tess, a new life begins at her death, in post-Civil War America. She is now Amarylis Rafferty, wife and mother of three -- and she can hear. Shocked and disoriented by her new surroundings, she is drawn into the savage heartache burdening the family, especially her husband, Jack, a man who fears himself capable of anything.

Really liked Homefront. it got me to read more of her books. Loved Night Road too. Just finished Magic Hour. That one didn't grab me as much.

I've only read one of hers and LOVED IT, Firefly Lane, many times I couldn't put it down.

Firefly Lane and Winter Garden were my favorite Kristin Hannah books, but I agree that for a real beachy read you can't go wrong w/ the Elin Hilderbrand books. All of them are great summer fluff...fast and easy reads.

Can I throw out a different author? Elin Hilderbrand has a large series of books set in Nantucket during summers...http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_7?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=elin+hilderbrand+books&sprefix=elin+hi%2Caps%2C362

That's a link to Amazon for her books.

I picked up this book years ago for an airplane flight. I'll revisit it once in a while if I'm between books (quick read when it's the 10th time!) and I still get teary eyed in parts.
I've never read any of her others.

Also have only read Firefly Lane. I thought it was good:thumbsup2

I LOVE Elin Hilderbrand. I consider her books a beach read.... All are set on Nantucket, but have substance to them too.
