We will be on DDP on our next trip what is your favorite Italian Restaurant on plan:confused3

We love Via Napoli, but have only done pizza there (it's pizza like that served in Italy, though--just great!). We did not care for Mama Melrose, and we used to like Tony's but have found it not as good in recent visits. Oddly (because we LOVE Italian food and cook it at home often), we have never tried Tutto Italia. Hopefuly someone who has will chime in.

I loved Tutto Italia. If you want a more casual place Tutoo Gusto has nice sandwiches & things too.

Via Napoli has very good thin crust, wood fired pizza. There are also delicious appetizers which you'll have to pay OOP if you are on the regular DDP. One of my favorite DW desserts is at Via Napoli - the Coppa di Brutti ma Buoni (Ugly, but Good Sundae). The restaurant is light and bright, but noisy.

Tutto Italia is also very good. The menu has typical Italian entrees, but no pizza. It is quieter and slower paced than Via Napoli.

Tony's is one of my least favorite DW TS restaurants. The food was disappointing - mushy, overcooked pasta. Unless you are a fan of Lady and the Tramp and want to see the decor, skip this place.

It's been a while since we've been to Mama Melrose. It was okay, but we much prefer Via Napoli and Tutto.

During my most recent trip (early October), my extended family and I ate at both Tony's and Tutto Italia. Of the two, Tony's got better marks for price/quality of food.

Neither were really authentic Italian food, both were on par with Olive Garden or similar chain Italian restaurants. As a whole (with over 10 adults and 5 children weighing in on a variety of dishes), we enjoyed our meal at Tony's more for their really good seasonal offerings (excellent seasonal soup, pasta, and cheesecake) and good 'regular' entrees. We all found the food at Tutto Italia to be of a similar quality (or slightly less...seafood was 'chewier' at Tutto vs Tony's per more than one relative's remarks). The thing about Tutto that we didn't like was that the it was more expensive than at Tony's (even though we ate at Tutto' during lunch vs. Tony's at dinner) and the quality was similar or less.

Our meal at Tutto was fine...just in comparison to a less expensive/better quality overall meal at Tony's a day and a half earlier, it didn't make us want to return. In fact, our next trip (two years out), Tony's is on our 'maybe' list (for a good sit-down option at MK), while Tutto Italia isn't even an option.

Favorite is Tutto Italia (it is a nicer TS dining place) then Via Napoli (it is more casual) both have very good food. At Tutto I usually order the fish dish or one with shrimp if they have it. Our last trip we were celebrating our 25th anniversary and put this on every Ressie (8 different ressies) for the week and only Tutto and Via Napoli saw this and sang to us Happy Anniversary in Italian, at least I think that's what they were saying. Plus we got an extra dessert at Tutto because of our anniversary. We've also eaten at Tony's and do not think it even compares to Tutto, in quality of food.

I ate at Via Napoli a month or so ago and it was the worst meal we have ever had in Disney.
It was an impromptu decision to eat there and we were surprised that we could get in without a reservation.
The noise in the restaurant was unimaginable!! I couldn't hear my mom across a 2-top table. It was a roar the entire time. The service was absolutely horrible, as was the food. I had chicken parmesan with potatoes and it was sooo dry. Mom had spinach lasagna and it was very plain. We ended up combining the two to make an edible meal.

I don't recommend it at all. Ever.

I've eaten at Tony's a few times and Mama Melrose's only once, but Mama Melrose's was easily the better of the two. I liked the atmosphere better for sure. The portion sizes were good and I thought the food was too.

Now I say that, but I have not yet been to any other in WDW, and have reserved Tutto Italia for my next trip. Should be dining there in 17 days. I have heard great things!

We loved, loved Via Napoli's pizza (there are some who don't like it) but the Proscuitto e Melone is amazing.

Now that being said as far as Italian goes, absolutely without a doubt Il Mulino gets our vote for #1 Italian in the whole area!!

I have a review on both if you'd like to check them out...

Our Via Napoli Dining Experience

Our Il Mulino Dining Experience

Currently planning an unexpected trip the end of this month and will be at WDW for New Yrs' - seriously considering Il Mulino for our New Yrs dinner and will probably do the early dinner since you can order from the menu because I got to have me some (or a lot of) that Pappardelle!:goodvibes:goodvibes (not on the fixed menu for later)...

I love both Via Napoli and Tutto Italia, I'm not really a huge fan of Tony's. Mama Melrose was okay. I have only at the pizza at Via Napoli and we enjoyed it. But we loved, loved, loved Tutto Italia.

Tutto Italia for all around

Via Napoli for pizza

Tony's for theming

IL Mulino-it's not on dining plan though.

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE, although not on plan.:sad2:...but honestly we were considering NYE here and we are TIW members and can't use it for NYE but would have still gone with it anyway and paid regular price but they are only offering their regular menu at an early seating and I really want the Parppardelle because it is that A M A Z I N G!!::yes:: So, we're going a few nights before...yeah!!

Italian food is such a personal choice. Some people want dishes similar to what they are used to, others want something different. We really liked Tutto Italia because it was similar to the original occupant in that location, Alfredo's.
The pizza at Via Napoli was good, but I don't think it's the greatest pizza ever. It's certainly the best pizza on property. Haven't eaten at Mama Melrose or Tony's in years so it wouldn't be fair to comment. The pic of the dish as Il Mulino does look tempting:earsboy:

Via Napoli is one of my favorites, I had the Prosciutto E Melone – fontina, mozzarella, pecorino the the best pizza I have never had in my life hands down. They only thing that I've had that comes close is the that grade if pizza is The Mellow Mushroom.

I was very excited for our Via Napoli meal , but was so let down as I found the food very bland and tasteless . I actually preferred Mama Melrose and I am quite surprised about that .
