BEfore my husband books it, which island is the best to stay at CB? He's never been there before and he will be there by himself on business so I guess forget Aruba since I heard everything is pink.
Thanks!

Martinique and Trinidad North are the closest villages to Port Royale which is the food court area. Those are considered preferred rooms and cost a little more. Aruba and Jamaica are across the lake and attached to Port Royale by a walking bridge. Trinidad South and Barbados are the farthest away. However, we have stayed in Barbados 3x and didn't really mind the 5-10 minute walk. It was quite relaxing.

If he doesn't mind paying more, you may also consider one of the Epcot resorts. After his business is done for the day, there are several more dining options and places for grown-ups to relax. ESPN Club is a sports bar/grill. Big River Grille has its own brewery. Across the lake, there is Beaches and Cream. Martha's Vineyard for wine. Yachtsman Steakhouse.....

Martinique and Trinidad North are closest to Old Port Royale (food, shopping, center point, etc.) but I think Jamaica has the loveliest colors (Blue, Yellow, & White) and architecture. It is across a bridge from Old Port Royale so it is somewhat quieter than the 2 closest to OPR. My family has stayed in Martinique, Jamaica, and Aruba and overall they are all basically the same. But some people have specific requirements, requests, expectations, etc. The only island that seems like it could be a downer is Trinidad South. It's somewhat separated by a road and just seems so way out there. Then again, some people like the seclusion of TSouth.princess:

Thanks everyone for all the advice. Keep them coming!
He's going there in October.
All of us are leaving in Aug. for the Swan so we're looking forward to that. My hubby has a hard time staying at places we've stayed at when he's on business so that's when he tries the new hotels out that we haven't gone to and CB is one of them but we know nothing about this hotel so I need all the advice.

We stayed in Martinique it is blue. However we must have been in the farthest building from Old Port Royale because it was a heck of a walk from where we were. I think we were building 23. I wouldn't pay extra for a waterview room either because all we saw was the playground equipment and a big tree in front of our room. Yeah the beach was there but you could barely see it. Also, the humdity was so high the windows were fogged anyhow ha!

I would recommend to stay there. I loved the theming and it was clean and nice. We just had a bad experience there but that would happen anywere I suppose. They did their best to make up for their shortcomings though.

Have fun!

By what building is the main pool or are there more than one since I'm not familiar with this hotel.
How do the pools compare to other resorts?
We've already stayed at Coronado and Poly. Can you compare the pools to these resorts?
How about a hot tub? Do they have one?
Thanks again everyone.

There's one main pool and quiet pools for each Island (I think for each one). Again, everyone is saying that Martinique is a close one but I didn't think so, but then again we could have been on the far end of Martinique.

The only other resort I've been to is the ASMU. A pool is a pool to me so I can't really compare. There is a water slide and a water fall in the pool. It is not zero entry like some of the other pools. The kiddie pool (if you need it) is very large but not spectacular. But hey, little kids would swim in a puddle and be content, ha! I'm thinking there was a hot tub but it wasn't separate if I remember correctly.

Please make sure you get a map of the place when you check in. The CM didn't give us one so we didn't know such a thing existed until half way through our stay when I saw people with them. We spent that half wandering around trying to find the nearest bus stop. The area around the lake is easy to get around, it's a big circle, but I thought the paths that lead you to the parking lot and bus stops were a maze. We never came out of the same path twice! Ha!

It is a large resort but it has it's advantages and disadvantages. We didn't like walking so far to everything but at the same time since it was so spread out it didn't seem overcrowded (until you got to the busstops on the way back from the parks).

We stayed in Martinque Building 26 it was really nice and about a 3 min walk to Old Port Royal! We had a great time we were there June 18-27th. No complaints except for the bus ride back from MGM(it took us 52 min from the time we got to the bus stop and back to CB) This was our 2nd stay at CBR first time we were in Trinidad South(talk about a walk to get to food court) But we like CBR and will probably stay there again, unless I can get my hubby to go for a deluxe resort. Our 12 year old had a blast! I hope your trip goes well! Tammy

Hey Tammy
It's just my husband going on a business trip.
Our big trip with the boys is next month and we're staying at the Swan which is also our first visit there so we're looking forward to it.
I have a copy of the CB map and I see that Trinidad South is the furthest building.
I know each building has a pool but do any of them have a slide? Which pool is better?
Are there hottubs?

This will be our fourth time and without a doubt, Jamaica is the best (more specifically bldg. 45); we got a free upgrade to a corner room with a waterview last May and we are hooked - we are actually asking for that same exact room for this trip.
Jamaica is so quiet and peaceful - the pool is right next door with a playground right across from it - we also thought that the walk across the bridge to Old Port Royale (which was not even 5 minutes) was so beautiful that we were hooked. The main reason why we loved Jamaica is that the bus p/u and d/o at Jamaica first - I would say about 90% of the time which saved a lot of time and aggravation.
Hope this helps and good luck with your decision - I'm sure you will ove it whereever you decide to stay:)

I think that only the main pool at Old Port Royale has a slide and I also think that each of the other pools (including the main) have a hot tub but don't hold me to that since DH and I rarely sat at the pool.

Thanks for all the info. I'm gathering it all and giving it to my husband to help him decide.
How do you add all the things under your name?

I guess I'm one of those who can't do it right. I fill in all the information for the timer but then what?
I sent a test but I guess it didn't work because the countdown isn't showing.

I have a map of CBR up on my website which is listed below. Martinique and Trinidad North are preferred locations costing extra nightly.

The CBR thread lists lots of great info on the resort. I also have lots of pictures of all areas of the resort.

The only hot tub is at the main pool. It is usually overrun with kids in the hot tub.
