Is there an iPhone app out there that is the consensus best app for ride wait times at IoA??

I know the Verizon app was the best for WDW a couple of years ago.

Did you find out whether there's such a thing? We're aiming for March and this could be very useful due to the crowds.

Search "UO WAITS" in the App Store and the first one there is pretty good and quite clear. The map version of the app contains wait times too. Both are free.

Come on, guys! In six weeks only one person has responded?! (Thanks, Gonz.) That's so unlike the DISboards to be lacking multiple opinions on such a relevant topic.

There are 22 Universal Studios Orlando apps in the App Store. Does anybody else have any input on the other 21? There are huge differences in wait times between the various apps at various times. There MUST be one (or more) that seems to be the most up-to-date and accurate. Please share your experience!

Thank you!:)

Touring plans.com now has a Universal Orlando section and a crowds and ride app

I just purchased my tickets from UndercoverTourist. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I see they have an app on their website. Has anyone used it?

We have the Undercover Tourist app but didn't use it once while we were there. There are boards that post the wait times all around the park that are helpful. Hope this helps! :goodvibes

Updating this because I am curious too. (My phone is an android, but usually they are the same, right?) Someone who posted a TR recently (Nancy, was it you?) said while the Undercover Tourist crowd calendar was good, the line app was not accurate.

I have been playing with the Touring Plans app lately, trying to get a sense of peak times for our upcoming visit, but I have no idea if it's accurate.

Anyone else got any feedback?

I have the Undercover Tourist app and am unimpressed. I haven't been to the parks to check for accuracy yet but Despicable Me still hasn't been added...

I have an iphone and used the Undercover Tourist app back in February for both Disney parks and Universal / IOA. I found it extremely useful and pretty accurate. People who use the app can submit what their wait time was and I did that after almost every ride. It is useful for when there are ride closures too.
I actually still have the app because I am going to Universal / IOA next week and I have been monitoring the wait times. Despicable Me has been added and it showing a current wait time of 100 minutes.

I recommend it. I do wish there was an app that showed the express line wait times though.

That's so weird because I still don't show DM?? :confused3

That is weird- maybe you have an older version of the app? I just recently re-downloaded it in the past couple of weeks. I did notice that Transformers is not on it though...

Well now that is weird because I have Transformers on mine... I might try deleting and re downloading.

I like the UO Maps app I downloaded and the wait times seem to match the UT app pretty closely. The interactive map feature seems pretty good as well. But, like I said, I haven't actually tried them in the parks yet so we'll see! :)

I downloaded Undercover Tourist today, and not only was it missing Despicable Me and Transformers, it was showing a wait time for Jaws. I thought that closed last year??

Lol! That is interesting. I wish we could upload pictures cause I would do a screen shot of the app I am using. Apparently, everyone's is showing something different.

Me too! This is the free android version... No despicable me, no transformers... But jaws has a 10 minute wait! Lol

OK, I was hoping that I was being a smart cookie trying to guage wait times from now by using an app (trying to plan my attack for August). Mine says Undercover Tourist and has the picture of the frog with the hat. (and yes, 10 minute wait time for Jaws...no Dispicable Me :)).

I have the same one... I sent them an email about it... Since I just downloaded it, I know It doesn't need to be updated lol

I just downloaded mine too, just last week :rotfl:.

I have tried repeatedly to download the touringplans app (red T) but in spite of it saying "installed" I always get an error message saying that it has stopped unexpectedly. I have tried uninstalling & reinstalling but still get the same error. I have never been able to open it.

I have an android phone btw.

Jaws is still only 10 minutes so it's great to know that we can pretty much walk right on (and into the water where the ride used to be :rotfl:)
