Just wondering which hotels you have been able to get a great view of fireworks/light shows by just watching from your hotel room balcony?

Please name the resort, which type of room/room area, and which light show/fireworks you got to see.

Photos would be a bonus-thanks!!

The best resort to watch fireworks from your room is the Contemporary. You must book a theme park tower room. These rooms are amazing! They are worth the extra price.

Agreed with above. I don't have a photo to share, but I'm sure others will post. I think the CR room balcony is the best view of Wishes in all of Disney World, in fact. It's amazing. You can see Wishes and the electric water parade. CR tower, magic kingdom view. Put the kids in their PJ's, have a snack, and enjoy the shows.

We had lagoon view rooms at the POlynesian a while back. We were on the ground floor and had a perfect view of the firewoks and the castle changing colors at night! What an awesome view to go to sleep to and then wake up to!!

Wishes is designed to look best from a direct frontal view. So the Polynesian is by far the best resort to watch from your room from. After that the GF actually has a nicer view than the very skewed CR view.

Other resorts that I know for a fact have fireworks views are the BC, BWI, BWV, YC, WL, AKL, Hilton.

Not all rooms at these resorts have views.

Yep, CR MK view. I had a north garden wing room at CR in 05, but it's no longer there. We had a view of MK in the evening for half the price of a tower room.

which fireworks are seen from the akl? illuminations?

Not 100% sure but I seem to remember my sil saying they could see illuminations from their balcony on the 4th floor of the bcv...:goodvibes

wishes - MK

Polyn, GF, CR, - higher rooms toward the park WL, DTD hotels

illiuinations - Epcot

BW, BC, S&D, YC - lagoon view, Pop, CBR

there is a place on BW where you can see the MK fireworks and Epcot fireworks -

I agree with everyone else who said the Contemporary because it's still the only Resort where you have clear view of the Magic Kingdom, no matter how Wishes is meant to be seen. Plus you are staying as close as you can to the Magic Kingdom. While the view from the Polynesian is nice I think it's better looking at a full view of the Magic Kingdom and on previous threads other have said the Magic Kingdom views at the Grand Floridian are not that good, since they seem to have an obstructed view.

Nope. I've had unobstructed MK views from three different rooms at the GF. And I've had unobstructed MK views from two rooms at the Polynesian--and neither had me looking over a parking lot.

I prefer the Epcot resorts myself for that, I always stay in the same room at YC concierge, and I always sit on my balcony and watch them!!!! So I will say the Epcot resorts!

Wilderness Lodge. I booked a concierge room for two weeks in July and I saw the MK fireworks from my room. You just have to book an MK room

we saw them from the YC. we didnt realize we had a view of fireworks till our last night there, when we were packing. we were always out at night. it was a water view room. the room was located above the gazebo. i want to say we were on the 3rd floor

We stayed at the Swan in December. Our room looked over the the walkway to the boardwalk and the boat launch to Epcot/MGM. Sorry, I don't remember our room number. We could see the Epcot fireworks while sitting on a bed in our room and the MGM ones while stand at the window looking to the side.
