Best Hotels/Rentals closest to Universal for 6

We are a party of 6 (4 adults, 1 17 yo, and 1 13 yo) this year attending Universal Orlando for HHN the 2nd week of October. Does anyone have any suggestions of the best places (not too expensive but fairly nice) to stay at, preferably 1 room (2/3 room suite) unless 2 standard rooms would end up being cheaper. Any information so that I can do some research would be greatly appreciated.

Does it have to be a hotel? More often that not, you can stay at a condo cheaper than a hotel. With a group of 4 adults and 2 teens....you would probably really appreciate the space. As I told another posted, you can get a 2 or 3 BR condo for $59 a night on vrbo.com Many are within 5 miles of the parks. There are other sites who offer rentals as well, I just happen to use that one. I don't use hotels, so I can't be of any help there.

No, it doesn't have to be a hotel. We are looking for anything really that is fairly close and not too expensive due to getting friends to come along. We usually stay at Portofino Bay Hotel when visiting Universal Orlando (or stay at Port Orleans-Riverside when visiting Disney) when we travel just the 2 of us, but with 2 more adults and 2 teens, that wouldn't be practical on the cost side of things being that it would require us purchasing 2 rooms at those prices. I appreciate the suggestion and will look through the information. Thank you.

I would try the Resideance Inn on Canada Avenue. Not one on Universal Blvd because it far away. I think the residence inn will fit your needs perfectly.

I would check Hawthorne Suites on Canada Avenue to.
