Best Hotel/parking option for Port Canaveral?

We leave for our first Disney cruise in 406 days I consider myself an expert when it comes to Disney World and doing a Disney vacation (been to Disney world many times), but this will be the first Disney cruise (7nights on the Fantasy). We will be driving to Port Canaveral from PA. We plan on getting there the night before and staying at a hotel near the port that offers free parking and free transfer to the Port for our cruise. I would appreciate any suggestions or comments on past experiences with staying at a hotel near the Port. Thanks- we can't wait to experience a Disney Cruise.

We just returned from our first Disney Cruise last weekend! We did the Halloween on the High Seas 7-night Western Caribbean on the Fantasy & fell in love! We leave in 412 days for a Very Merrytime 7-night Eastern Caribbean on the Fantasy. So, be prepared for a new Disney vacation addiction.

We also drove to Port Canaveral the Friday before (from TN). We stayed the night at the Country Inn & Suites right across the street & it was great! I requested a room on the highest floor with a view of the port. We actually got to wake up to the Fantasy outside the window!!!

You get a free breakfast & everything was nice & clean. We will definitely be staying there again next year.

We stayed at Residence Inn and loved it....that said, I don't think I know of a place that has "free" parking and when we looked around all the hotels charged for a shuttle to the port....
