Best hotel for squeezing 2 families?

Wow - hijacking a bit but THANK YOU!
WHY oh WHY do most of these NOT come up from the DLR site as options for my family of 8?? They only suggest Staybridge, Anaheim Residence Inn, a Best Western (not Stovall's - can't remember name) and Crowe Plaza! A few of these would be very good options for my family of 8!

We also have a family of 8 and it's hard finding places to stay. We travelled from Australia around the US last year and usually ended with DH in 1 room with 3 kids, and me in another room with 3 kids. Couldn't seem to get many with connecting doors. Anyway, we stayed at the Desert Inn and it was great for us. Breakfast was very basic, but it was clean and it is literally across the road from Disney. Our kids were between 10 and 9 months, and after going all day in the park, at the end of a 6 week vacation, we were glad we only had to cross the street. We are looking at going back next year, and will more than likely stay there again.

Check out my review of the DI&S: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3165502&referrerid=355921

We stayed there last year because my DH had plantar fasciitis and couldn't walk as much as usual. It was clean and spacious and so close to DLR. With 4' of us in our suite, everyone had their own bed. The pool isn't nice so we did not use it. It wasn't a hotel you'd want to hang out in relaxing, but that was ok because we spent most of our time in the parks. Looking back at our trip, I missed the relaxing and swimming we enjoyed when we stayed at other hotels. There are two rooms and 4 beds, so it could work for you, but there's only 1 shower.

You are obviously close enough to the other family to plan a trip together, but do you really want to spend every moment together? Three of our last 4 DLR trips have been with extended family. We love it, but need our own room to get a little time each day away from the gang.

Twice we stayed at the HOJO with two other families. We got adjoining rooms so we could eat and hang out together when we wanted to, but have some privacy when we needed it. The HOJO is a lot nicer than the DI&S. The landscaping, pools and rooms are lovely. We really enjoyed spending time at the pool together. It's more expensive than the DI&S and you'd need two rooms, but it still costs a lot less than staying onsite. (I miss pre-remodeling prices we got in 2011 and before.)

Next summer, we will be 2 adults and 6 kids. We are renting a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath condo. It'll be a great trip, but I have a feeling it's going to be really noisy with 6 kids so the extra space is a must.
