We need a new one for our DL trip next month. Anyone have one they love? Thanks!

Right now the best HD, small camcoder out there is the iPhone 4s. I have both Sony and Panasonic, just depends on the features and budget.
Go to www.camcorderinfo.com for some good research input.

I've got a Flip camera, but I don't think they make them anymore. I really enjoy it though. You might find some through liquidation still.

We have a Panasonic HDC one that we got at Costco (in the mainland on our summer trip cuz DH broke our Canon). I don't know which one, I just pay for them haha. It is great. No complaints. He just got an iPhone 4S, but oddly Jack, he had me use my iPhone 4 to video the boys' dance performance on Sunday and he used the video camera???

I've seen some around and there are a lot of a similar stylte that aren't Flip branded too. They are really nice for casually taking videos rather than lugging a serious video camera around the parks.

Some digital cameras take HD video as well. I have a Kodak that takes 720p videos

We have an older Sony that my husband HATES so I really do not have a recommendation. But I do have a suggestion for packing it around during the day. My DH uses a fanny pack that I bought at Walmart for $6 or so. It has one large pocket that a camcorder fits in nicely and then a smaller pocket in front of that one that his money and hopper pass go in. It makes is much easier then trying to dig it out of a back pack.

Most new digital cameras do video recording now and a great quality. We have the sony handycam HD, it fits in the size of my palm and can record 100's of hours of video, very easy to upload to the computer too, or burn direct to dvd. Hope you find a camcorder you love! :goodvibes

I have hesatation(sp) buying a product from a dissolved company. Just me.

Flip Video was not failing at business it was succeding. It was bought out and the huge parent company decided to focus on other things that it was good at and license out the software that was used in the Flip Cams. It was a "stick to what you know" situation.

I use a Sony HDR-XR520V HD camcorder. I love using this video camera for the nighttime shows or dark rides. There are more and powerful video cameras then the one I am using, but this works so well for me especially for the nighttime shows like the fireworks, WoC and F!.

Our favorite right now is the Canon PowerShot ELPH 300HS. It's fairly compact (smaller than a Flip, I think), wasn't super expensive, takes great HD video, has some really cool features and also takes really good pictures pictures. My fiance uploads a lot of videos to YouTube and his videos always come out looking great, even when he's not filming in 1080.

I did not mention it wasn't suceeding, I said it was dissolved..meaning it did not bancrupt(sp). I would have to say that if you have a flip it really is a disposable device the did work well but had huge rolling shutter problems. I just try not to put money into something I can not get support for. Maybe the "new" company has a repair/support network in place.

Jack is right on the money with this one (regarding the Flip performance). I had one, and everytime you moved, the video would stutter. I ended up selling mine on eBay.
