We live "up North", and my husband loves grits.

We can't find any good grits up here, but what about WDW? We are going next June, and DH wants to know where the best grits are.

He thinks this is a challenge for me. But I knew that all I would have to do is start a thread and the answers would "come a flyin".

Of course, I could check all the menus, but this is more fun for me.

So, all you grits lovers, where do you get your fix at WDW????

POR. Creamy and rich.

Trails End Buffet- thick, slightly lumpy (in all the right places ;) ) and all you can eat :thumbsup2

Can someone tell me the difference between grits and cream-of-wheat?

I stayed at a hotel with a hot buffet, and I swear their grits tasted just like cream-of-wheat.

Cream of Wheat is pulverized wheat kernels- it cooks smoothly. Grits are ground corn kernels and has a "grittier" texture

Outside of Disney (but all over the place in Florida) is The Waffle House. They have awesome grits (and I live up north, as well, so I agree with your husband- no good grits up here!)

"best grits" is an oxymoron. There isn't any such thing. :happytv:

It depends what you're looking for in grits. I think all of the counter service grits are just the grits themselves cooked in water with some salt added in. I prefer these grits because I like doctoring them up myself -- I ask for some shredded cheddar and then also add in plenty of Louisiana Gold hot sauce (or Tabasco in a pinch) and some pepper.

If you want grits with all the doctoring already done for you, then I'd rank the ones at Olivia's the best. They are sooooooooo sinful -- loaded up with cream and butter and are very thick.

Being a southern girl, I can't make it without my grits. LOL

We were shocked to find great grits at the B'Fast Buffet at Crystal's Palace and also at the B'Fast Buffet at Hollywood & Vine. I thought the grits at H&V were the best, they had cheese in them!! Yummy!

Great to see so many fellow grits lovers. Not sure if there is a biscuitville down there but i had some at a biscuitville in north carolina and they could have held my funeral right after because life couldn't have got better than that.;)

First off grits with sugar is Weird...lol

I have not been there and its not a DP stop, but try the Sunday brunch at House of Blues.

DH had the grits at Cape May Breakfast and he really liked them

I don't like grits.....Except the cheesey grits at Narcoossee's. I wanted them one night and they made them for me even though they weren't on the menu that evening.

1) Grits at WDW are not all that good.
2) The locfal chefs have a tough time preparing them.
3) It seems the local trappers destroy many of them in their traps.
4) Other destroy them during the skinning process.
5) I wish you good luck in finding good grits in WDW.

:lmao:

I will only eat grits with sugar in them. If they put in cheese or something else "weird" I will not eat them. I am the same way with cream of wheat though - only sugar. :)
I had the ones at Sports and I couldn't even finsh them. They were way too runny.
