Looking at a trip in the next year or two and trying to decide between all of the Grand Villas at WDW. We stayed in the BLT Grand Villa this past Jan and loved it, so we would be happy to go back there, but I also would love to try something new. Is there a website or a link you can give me that shows pictures of all of the grand villas so that I can get an idea of what they look like? Also, if we go, it would be in January. If we stay at AKL are they animals still active in January with colder temperatures?

Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated!

The best grand villa? The one you can get. It's tough getting a grand villa if you don't own at that resort.

We have stayed at Jambo's GV, SSR, OKW and VB.

Jambo was the most luxuriant; there was a tv in the master bath and a pool table near the living room, the three balconies were very large, the dining room table seats 12 comfortably. The walk down the hallway was very, very long.

Vero beach's cottage was right on the ocean. But you're not going there.

SSR was nice and it's our home resort. I don't like the master bath since the toilet is not in a room by itself and if you keep the shutters open by the tub, by accident, there is a clear view in from the great outdoors! The living room did not feel very large either, not enough seating for a large group.

OKW is great. It is very spacious, there are 2 couches, a chair which I thought was more comfortable than the couches, table with 4 chairs and then there is the dining room table, though it only seats 6, I think. The kitchen is easy to work in with a few people helping, it's much bigger than my own! It's two levels which is nice but I was told that the noise can carry to the upstairs bedrooms. You can park outside your door.

Good luck You may only be able to get into another place for part of your trip but we have been lucky.

We've only stayed at the GV at OKW and it was amazing. It truly felt like a vacation home- huge windows, kitchen, and bedrooms- more than enough room for the 10 of us. We got it at the 7 month mark.

OKW is a great resort. The main pool had an awesome pool party where my kids won a bunch of prizes. Olivia's is delicious and the store had a good selection of trinkets.

I think the only ones that have GV's are AK, BW, BLT, OKW, and SSR. Out of those we have only stayed in the GV's at OKW and BW.
I loved the GV at BWV! I could be wrong, but I think that all the GV's are a BW view and while all the layout that you will see are of a single story GV, the one we stayed at was a 2 story.

I think this is a nice website, there are layouts and photos off all the DVC locations at WDW. But I did notice that they have not updated the photos of OKW since the refurbishment.

Do you have photos you could share of the 2 story at BWV... we have the GV at the end of June... just curious!

I thought that I did, but I can't find any of the interiors, just of the view from our balcony. I could share those if you'd like.

I called for a Grand Villa for any part of our 9 day trip Nov 11-20. We were looking for 4 days, and called inside of 7 months by about 2 weeks.

OKW had availability for 6 nights. SSR for all 9. AKV Kidani for 8 nights, Jambo for 7. BWV for 5 nights, BLT for 3 nights.

Maybe we got lucky.

For best, meaning most impressive, we vote the single story GVs at AKV Jambo and BWV and AKV Jambo is the best of them all.

this gives me hope that I'll be able to score a GV at that time in a couple of years.

I've never stayed in any of the GV's yet...but photos of the tub set-up in the Jambo GV make me want to stay there badly!

We have only stayed in a GV at OKW. We absolutely loved it. Lots and lots of room and very comfy. Good luck!

This really depends on what you are looking for in the total vacation, not just the GV room. And like a previous post which one you can get. OKW has the biggest GV rooms for the points. BWV has the location for Epcot & MGM. BLT has location for MK. You'll get many different responses.

Our Jan 2011 trip involved 3 different grand villas: Boardwalk- great views, we had a single level-corner unit- the master bedroom had a window that looked over the boardwalk and one - with a balcony looking out over the entrance area.
BLT- nice views but the poor upkeep and wear and tear of the unit was hard to overlook.
Jambo : Loved the pool table - can't beat all the balconies- but lots of walking!

I've never stayed in one - and would never be able to use so many points - but I'd love to tour one once. I can imagine they are GRAND!
