I guess I'm more interested in footwear for my daughter and I as we will probably wear a lot of sundresses. I would normally advocate for a teva or similar sandal, but they will look "off" with dresses I think, even casual ones.

We of course want to wear something that will be good for our feet with all that walking.

What do you suggest?

Clarks brand sandals are the comfiest and best for walking, and most of them would be cute with a sundress in my opinion. I look online (usually amazon) to find the style I like because there is more of a selection than at stores. I don't know for your daughter though. Good luck!

Thanks! Clarks are great! :)

DH and I will be wearing our keens. They aren't pretty but they save us from A) hot feet B) blisters and C) can get wet without worry. If they make them small enough I may splurge and get DD some.

I will have at least another pair of shoes for the evenings. Probably a pair of my rainbow (brand) flip flops. They're great!

I wear Birkenstocks or cute Crocs (like the ballet flats or wedge sandals with no back strap). For a child, I would choose something with a strap that goes over the heal to make sure the shoe stays on really well when getting in and out of rides. Fortunately, little girls look cute in just about anything.

my daughter is always very comfortable in the hoy sweetheart sandals. the leather is soft, comes in just about any color, they are water resistant, and have a very flexible sole and are completely adjustable. The look great with a dress.

My daughters and I travel in September for a week to Disney when the weather is still hot. We have been doing it since they were 5 and 7 (6 years now). We too wear sundresses as we have realized these are much more comfortable to wear in hot weather rather than shorts. I don't know why more people don't realize it. Air circulates. But I digress….

I know that the comfy sandals may not look as beautiful as a cute little stripy number but we all go for comfort. From Clarks, to timberlands to Teva's and more, we match the color and figure we may not look as stunning but we won't look like those fools walking around in 2 inch heels that you think "what were they thinking". We normally go shoe shopping and look for anything with a significant rubber sole that will withstand the long day on that pavement. Anything else will just cause your daughter pain. I would rather my kids be comfortable and be able to hang with us until the bitter end than wear anything that could cause discomfort or irritation (like a shoe with a toe piece). That's just my two cents. And truth be known, most of the pictures taken at the parks don't show the feet so know one knows our dirty little secret of fashion on top/ comfort on the bottom ;)

Keens, Keens, Keens. I tend to prefer my Teva Mandalyn wedge. PB wore croc maryjanes more than anything else last year. Jelly (4.5) has wore Keens and only Keens for years, May-Sept.

Our family loves Crocs. They have the cutest Disney ones for the kids. Also They can get their feet wet no problem. I noticed how often the little ones get wet throughout the day. be it from fountains, squirting Tikis or just puddle pads. This way no worries. So many different styles to choose from too.

Our rule of thumb, just don't get our feet in the picture this way footwear can be as ugly as you want it lol! Seriously, I am in the minority but I was so happy when we had 60-65 degree weather and I could wear my Uggs.

I need to figure out what to make my son wear this time around, last time he was in the stroller most of the time.

For summer, anything that can get wet!

We all have keens, well not my dh but he has some merrels that can get wet/wear with out socks.

Last summer, my then 9 yo got a $100 KDs. He really thought I was going to let him take those high tops to Florida to wear in 100* temps. I had to remind him that his feet will get hot and he said he didn't care. I then had to remind him that he couldn't go thru any of the sprinklers and he said he'd leave them at home!

My kids will wear flip flops too since that is what they are used to wearing in the summer.

But don't wear any shoes that you aren't used to wearing. I wear my keens all summer long so my feet are used to them. I am a bit nervous this year since I finally splurged and bought danskos and won't wear any other shoe this winter. They are so comfy! The lady at the store tried to get me to buy uggs since they were in sale so I tried them and said no way. She even said they aren't for comfort but for looks. Um..no I'm in it for comfort.

Actually I always wear my teva's and they look fine with my sundresses and I'm short too! I always paint m toes to make it look a little more dressed!!!

Crocs are my favorite Park shoes too. I don't wear the original clog ones though.
Are the wedge ones as comfortable for walking all day as the flat ones? I've been thinking about getting a pair.

We love crocband crocs for our kids , husband wears sneakers and I wear skechers go walk shoes - no complaints! Just break them in ahead of trip!
