Last year Chef Mickey's was great for dinner on our first night. To us, it screams Disney and fun, and is DH's favorite "must do" meal. This year, I booked earlier flights to allow us to have a nice TS lunch. We will probably upgrade to the DXDP. I am having difficulty finding a lunch that packs a Disney "punch" like CM. Whatever we do for lunch will have to work well with dinner. We'll either stick to MK or Epcot for the day, and will have a rental car. DH suggested Crystal Palace for dinner, which would put us in and around MK for lunch. To bad GG in Epcot doesn't offer lunch, as that would give us our immediate Mickey fix, with no shortage of excellent dinner options. DH has nixed CM and CP for lunch, as we'd prefer to hit those for breakfast and dinner. I'm looking for something that will allow us to ease into the excitement. It should be fun enough to hold our attention and keep us there long enough to recouperate from the early morning travel stress. I'm scratching WCC off the lunch list. WWYD?

If we start in the Magic Kingdom, it is difficult to get the team to buy in to going inside and sitting down for a meal right out of the gate. It's popcorn on the way in and a hot dog at Casey's and then on to the fun.

Consider eating at a Boardwalk restuarant and then taking a Friendship boat or walking to the International gateway to enter Epcot. It is a good way to build anticipation in steps and ease into the immersion without taking big gulps of it.

nothing screams disney like the kitchen sink.

yes Kitchen sink screams Disney and then a serious nad:rotfl2:, but for our arrival(dinnier In our case) we are going to Beirgarten and to start the day by ending the night with Illumnation:goodvibes

DD16 actually requested B&C, but I am afraid we will wait verrrrry long for a table at lunchtime. Our plane lands at 10:10. Breakfast will have been at the airport, so we'll be hungry.
We've never eaten at a Boardwalk place. Is there one that is not to be missed?
