Best Family Dining Spots????

: My family and I are planning a once in a lifetime WDW trip and need help with "Gotta go to/Can't miss" dining spots. Our 11 yo twin sons are not interested in character dining at all. We do know that we want to go to Boatwright's for Sweet 'Tater Pancakes and PORFQ for beignets. HELP! We would love your suggestions!!!

We really like Ohana in at the Poly. Plenty to eat for me, DH and four kids 13,9,7 and 5.

50's Prime Time was also good at Disney Hollywood. Fun family atmosphere.

I might splurge at some of the nicer resort restaurants or Hollywood and Vine at DHS.

Others we did were character but honestly, my oldest sons were the most into it so.....don't count them out. Chef MIckeys is really fun!

My 12 year old recommends 'Ohana for dinner, The Biergarten at Epcot, and the atmoshpere of Sci-Fi but says not to get the turkey sandwich. And, while he might tell you he goes for his younger brother and sister, he definitely enjoyed meeting his faborite character (Donald) at Chef Mickey's.

Make sure to try the Crystal Palace! We've been there many times for lunch and dinner (never been to breakfast) and it has consistantly been stellar in all aspects. There is a large varity of food (it is a buffet) and they are always restocking the buffet with new items. Everything that is supposed to be hot is served hot, and everything that is cold is served cold. The service is incredible; our waitress cleared plates and refulled our drinks every 5 minutes.

Our teenagers have always enjoyed Mexico, Morocco, Japan, Kona Cafe, and Boma. DW and I also love them.

my dd's love Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge. It has good food and it's rowdy and fun. This year we are going to try Biergarten (sounded like fun) and Sci-fi (that sounds like a winner for boys)

tlriv5, how did you like POR? We had decided to stay there but then a WDW fanatic friend of mine highly recommended CBR or POFQ. She doesn't like POR. They stay elsewhere now cause they're DVC.

I'm not the one you asked, but I liked POR. The pool there is much better for older children than the one at POFQ and the one at CBR is being refurbished right now so I think you've made the right choice.

For non-character meals, we had good luck with Coral Reef, Kona (breakfast ), Beaches and Cream, and the Yacht Club Galley (I know it has a different name now).

Also, they might enjoy Hoop-dee-Doo.

My two teens say 50's Prime Time Cafe is a must. Unfortunately the experience is very waiter/wiatress dependent, but the food has been consistently good. Their other vote is the Sci-Fi Theater. As an adult I find the meal pretty average there, but you could just chalk it up to one of those things you do for your kids. What might surprise a lot of people is Liberty Tree. If you make late dinner reservations, say 7:30, all the young families are gone. The characters seem to have a late night version. We have actually had Chip sit down and join us for dinner and do many things that would have choked Mrs. Manners.
