My son and I are going to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party as Lilo and Stitch. While I've had his costume for 10 months...I've been slacking on mine and now it's a little over a month away. I found a red t-shirt dress and I would like to attach the leaves on it. Do you have any suggestions for the best type of material to do this? I was thinking felt, but then wasn't sure how that would work with the 'no sew' glue.

I am really not talented in the sewing department, so if you have an other ideas on fabric or the best way to attach them, I'd really appreciate it!

I think I have found a picture to blow up to use as a template, but does anyone know the exact name of the leaves on Lilo's dress?

Thanks!

what i would do is use the white peel and stick felt sheets...get 4 sheets or so trace as many leaves as you can fit on one sheet, cut em out, peel em, and stick em. And they stick really well so you wont be leaving leaves all over the MK lol easy & will look awesome

i've used them on tons of costumes

Oh and because of the paper backing it is super easy to write on to trace and easy to cut out because of the added stiffness of the paper backing

Another idea is to use Wonder Under and regular fabric. Wonder Under is an iron on adhesive you can buy by the yard at the fabric store. It comes with directions wrapped with it, so you can read how to do it also. (they also sell something similar in packages by the irons, but I forget the name)

The WU has a paper backing you iron onto the back of your fabric. You can trace your leaf pattern to the back and cut it out. Then peel away the paper and iron it face up onto the dress. You can outline the leave to help seal the edges with fabric paint also.

I have used the above for my MNSSHP shirts. I used Mickey heads and outlined them in Glow In The Dark paint.
